I am so sorry for not updating yesterday. I actually forgot, that it was Wednesday and I had to update this story. I am so sorry. Anyways, I was thinking to wrap this story by end of December or January max. I think this story has lost that spark that it had when I started writing "Will You Be My Girlfriend" . Let me know what are your views about it.
And one more important announcement, one of my best friends is getting married in couple of weeks, so I will be a little busy until then. I am not sure if I will be able to update next Wednesday as per schedule, but I will try my best to update. But if not, I will update it first thing when I am free. That is enough for today I guess :D.
Happy reading :)
Dadu, Dj Nandini and Mukti were standing outside Raj and Nyonika's room, not being able to decide who would go in first. Unable to hold the anxiety anymore Nandini softly knocked the door, but didn't get any response. She twisted the knob and the moment she spotted Manik, she just rushed to him ignoring the surroundings.
Cupping his face gently in her palms, she made him look at her as he was too shocked to realise her presence.
'Manik' she called him softly to gain his attention and he looked at her with the most vulnerable emotion floating in his eyes. One look at her and the tears in his eyes rolled down his cheeks. He pulled Nandini close to himself and started shedding silent tears, hiding his face in the crook of her neck. She didn't ask him a question. She just pulled him any closer if possible and ran her fingers in his hair in a soothing manner. With the other hand she was rubbing his back.
"What happened?" Dadu asked in a stern tone looking at his son and grandson.
"That useless idiot wants to marry Nandu" Raj said angrily and looked away to control his rising temper.
"Whats the big deal in that? They will get married someday, so why not now, if they both don't have any problem?" Dadu was little shocked and confused seeing his angry son and a worried daughter-in-law.
Nandini knew where this discussion was going, so she just hugged Manik tighter, showing him her support through her actions. She placed a kiss on his shoulder to assure him of her presence.
"Papa, don't you remember what happened last time? How will I face Kishore and Shalini Bhabhi? How will I promise them that their daughter will be happy in our house? How will I promise them that my son will take good care of their most valuable possession? How will I assure them that what happened last time will not repeat again? Answer me!" he said pacing to and fro in the room.
Manik's grip on her was tightening with every passing moment, but Nandini didn't speak a word.
"Raj, listen to me very carefully because I will not repeat again. Manik and Nandini will get married, if not immediately then at some point in future when they think it's the right time for them to settle down in their personal lives. Now coming to your questions, let me ask you something. Did you never fight with Nyonika? Did you never hurt her? Didn't you show all your frustrations and tantrums to her when your business was going through some problems."
There was pin drop silence in the room. Nyonika looked away.
"All couples fight and they sort it out as well. That is how a relation grows. That is how they understand each other better. Every couple has disagreements, but how you don't let it convert into misunderstandings is in your hands. Communication is the key to success in a relationship. Yes I agree that they had a huge fight, but didn't they sort it out themselves. Didn't they fight for each other? Don't you see that they have grown together in this relation. Isn't that the beauty of relationships?" Dadu said and left the room. He was very angry today. That was not what he had expected his son to do.
"Beta, don't ruin things in anger. I have told you this before, but I am telling you this again. We should leave some things to destiny. You cannot control everything around you. just go with the flow and let nature take its course. You are wise and mature enough to look things differently." Dj said and she too walked out of the room.
Nyonika signalled a stunned Mukti to Manik and Nandini. Mukti walked towards them and whispered to Nandini
"Nandu, I think we should go back to our rooms"
Nandini nodded and broke the hug. Wrapping her hand around Manik, she dragged him to their room.
"You shouldn't have said all those things to Manik, Raj. We all know that what he did was not right, but he was guilty about it and he made efforts to make his relation with Nandini work. Kids do mistakes, we are there for them right. We should correct them and show them the right direction. Talk to them, help them make the right choices. That is what parents do. That is what your and my parents did and that is exactly what we should be doing to our kids as well. Talk to Manik tomorrow. You have hurt him a lot with your words. He considers you as his idol, what you did today, broke his heart" Nyonika said with tears continuously flowing down her eyes.
She wiped them down and laid on the bed turning her back to her husband.

Manik's room:
Mukti left the room after asking Nandini to call her in case she needs something.
Nandini made Manik lay down on the bed with his head in her lap. He hid his face in her stomach and wrapped his hands around her waist. Nandini didn't ask him anything as she wanted him to open up to her by himself, whenever he was comfortable. She knew that he would talk to her, but he just needed sometime to figure things out.
"Nandu I am sorry." He said after sometime and moved back to look at her face.
"You don't have to be" she said with a smile and bent down to kiss his forehead.
"I will talk to Mom and Dad tomorrow again" he said in a low tone looking at the ceiling in the room.
"Manik, what did dad say?" she asked making him face her.
Manik chuckled sadly and recalled Raj's words
Huh, you don't have the rights to tell me how to talk to my wife Manik Malhotra. You are the one who blamed that poor girl for your failure. You were the one who broke her heart. You were the one who didn't stand up to his promises. You are the one who needs to learn to respect. You don't get to say anything to me. Understand
'Manik' she called him to break his trance and he blinked his eyes to stop the tears from rolling down.
"You know what he said was right. I broke my promise, I had hurt you, I disrespected you, I blamed you for my failure" he said looking at her with moist eyes.
"Manik, we've been over this. All that is our past. We have learnt from our mistakes. Even I broke my promise that I will stay with you no matter what. Guilt will not help you grow. What is important is that we have learnt from our mistakes. Manik that was not the last time we'll be fighting. We will have disagreements and fights in the future also. But that doesn't mean we will not stay together. You don't have a choice mister, you have to bear me for the rest of your life." She chuckled and kissed his forehead.
Manik looked at her with lots of love. Pulling her down, he placed his lips on hers wrapping his hand around her neck. Breaking the kiss he made her lay on the bed and hovered over her, making sure he had not put his entire weight on her.
He slowly kissed her forehead, the moved to her eyes, then pecked her nose. He smooched her cheeks making her blush and after peppering kisses all over her face he placed his lips on hers, pouring all his love for her in that one kiss. Breaking the kiss he rested his forehead on hers and whispered
"I love you so much Nandu"
"Love you too Mr Malhotra" she said and pecked his lips again.
