Chapter Forty !

When Shalini Kishore Rishab Preethi their cute daughter, Chacha Chachi had reached Malhotra Mansion after an hour, Nandini was in deep sleep. Manik and Mukti were next to her. The Murthy family had settled down in the living room with tea and snacks. Shalini was looking upstairs every few minutes, and wiping the corner of her eyes frequently.

"Beta, go and sit with her. You will be at peace" Dadi said looking at Shalini who was getting agitated despite sitting with the family. Shalini gave everyone a small smile, but stood up and walked to Nandini's room. She smiled seeing Mukti sitting on the couch dozing off, and Manik who was sitting next to Nandini on the bed patting her head even when he was asleep.

Shalini sat on the other side of Nandini and caressed her hair lovingly, bent down and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "My strong baby" she whispered and a tear rolled down her cheek. Nandini recognized her mother's warmth and turned to her. "Ma" she spoke in her sleep and snuggled close to Shalini. Manik woke up sensing Nandini's movements and was happily surprised to see Shalini next to Nandini.

"Ma" he whispered and walked to her and hugged her tightly. "Thank you so much for taking care of her baccha" She whispered back and Manik nodded his head in a No. "Ma, you dont have to say thanks, she is my responsibility. I am sorry I failed you all, I failed her, I couldnt protect her" he spoke looking down with tears rolling down his cheek.

"No beta, dont say sorry and you didnt fail me or her or anyone. You saved her, you protected her. We are so proud of you both." she said caressing his cheek and he managed a small smile.

"Shalini maa" Mukti spoke loudly excited to see Shalini and Nandini woke up with a jolt. Manik glared at Mukti who gave a sheepish smile, whereas Shalini hugged Nandini to calm her down. "Maa" Nandini hugged Shalini with a smile on her face.

"How are you baby?" Shalini said breaking the hug, and Nandini just nodded her head in a yes. "Let's go down, your dad is waiting for you" she spoke and Nandini agreed immediately.

"Oh my baby" Kishore spoke hugging Nandini who sobbed in her fathers arms. "My brave baccha. I am so proud of you" he said rubbing her back. She looked up at his face, with teary eyes. He cupped her face and rubbed her cheeks. 

"You look like a ghost" Rishab said and after a pin drop silence and couple of gasps, Nandini was running behind Rishab. The whole family laughed seeing them. Dadu Dadi Nyonika Shalini Raj and Kishore's heart was at peace. Manik and Mukti were smiling so hard that their cheeks hurt. 

"Nini..." everyone and everything stopped as Rishab and Preethi's daughter, Ananya held up her hands and called for Nandini.

"Oh my baby" Nandini picked her up and kissed her both cheeks, making Ananya cringe. "Nini No" she said trying to push Nandini's face away from her's making Nandini giggle. Smile didnt leave everyone's face as they saw Nandini smile and giggle after a couple of days. Dadi cracked her knuckles to wade off the evil eye.

"Okay lets eat dinner. Food is ready" Nyonika announced and everyone walked to the dining area. Nandini with Ananya talking to her in babyish tone.

"Baby, you fine?" Manik asked pulling Nandini close to himself and she just hmmed in response. After a couple of minutes of silence Nandini spoke. 

"Manik, can I ask you something?" she said doodling on his chest.

"Anything" he replied in a blink.

"Kiss me" she whispered and Manik's eyes widened in surprise. "What?" he asked

"Manik kiss me" she asked again, this time a her tone demanding. Manik didnt speak anything but cupping her face he kissed her eyes, then smooched her cheeks and finally placed his lips on hers. Kissing her slowly, pouring all his love for her in the kiss, he kissed her. He broke the kiss after couple of minutes he tried breaking the kiss, but Nandini pulled him back.

"Nandu, no" he said trying to break the kiss. "Manik please" she pleaded him but he broke this kiss. "Nandu, please. I dont want to do this, not in the current situation" he said trying to explain it to her softly, but she nodded her head in a No.

"Manik, I need you. I need to feel close to you. The most closest, if possible. I want to believe that all of the bad is over and I am here, with you, safe in your arms." she said and a tear rolled down her cheek. Manik wiped her cheek and spoke nothing after that. Turning off the lights leaving the dim ones on, he moved back to her. Placing a kiss on her forehead and then placed his lips on hers once again, kissing her a little more passionately. No more words were spoken between them as their clothes came off.

"I love you" Manik said breaking the kiss and without giving her any chance to reply, he sealed her lips with his again and entered her, making her arch her back in pain. Giving her a couple of moments to settle down, he continued. Nandini's hands were holding him by his shoulders in a death grip. Her nails digging into his skin. He broke the kiss and started kissing her jawline, then her neck her shoulder and then moved down. Sinking his teeth in her cleavage making her hiss in pain, he then kissed the same spot to sooth the pain.

"Manikkkkkk" she moaned unable to hold herself, getting impatient.

"Nandu, calm down" he spoke authoritatively and then stopped his movements all together, making Nandini squirm. "Stop moving Nandini" he said sternly and a whimper left her lips. Manik fisted her hair a little, just to hold her head in place careful not to hurt her. He kissed her a little harshly, making Nandini dig her toes into the mattress.

"You okay? Was I too harsh?" Manik asked pulling Nandini close to himself, caressing her back drawing random patterns. Nandini just hmmed in reply, and started doodling her name on his chest. Snuggling closer to him, she hid her face in the crook of his neck, she sighed deeply.

"I love you so much Manik" she whispered in his ear making him smile. "I love you more my baby panda" he said pecking her lips once again. Sighing Nandini closed her eyes while Manik hummed her favourite song, Nandini was in deep sleep in minutes. Kissing her cheek once again, he patted her head and slept holding her close.

Okay, Nandini is getting back on track so is the story finally getting to the phase where I actually wanted it to be.
