Chapter 8: What the Future Holds

When Cypress gets to the arena it was quiet. She took out her blades and looked around "hello?" she asked hesitantly. Suddenly someone grabbed her from behind covering her mouth as she tried to scream "Cypress please let me explain before you try to kill me.." a very sad Mercury said as he let go of her. "HOW DARE YOU COME BACK!" she yelled angrily and pointed her swords at him "Wait listen to me please. I didn't want anyone to get hurt, yes I am part of the white fang but you don't understand we are the good guys. You're making a mistake." he said with his  hands in the air. "Good guys ha. In your opinion. Good guys don't kill innocent people like my brother!" she said taking a step closer. "go back from where you came before I send the whole Beacon academy after you!" Cypress threatened and he took a step back "come on Cypress..." she growled "I told you leave now or else!" "Cypre.." he was interrupted "NO! SHUT UP. I don't know what the white fang told you but they lied to you, can't you see that. In the end it will end badly and you know it. You said you didn't want anyone to get hurt yet you killed my brother and nothing will fix that! I am not like you I won't hurt you but this conversation is over." She said and threw a smoke bomb disappearing. She then called her parent to tell them she was coming to visit, later she meets back up with her team "sorry it took me so long but I think I am going to go visit my parents now after what happened with my brother." They nodded understanding. Cypress said her goodbyes and packed her things heading to her parents. -later- Cypress arrived at her parents and knocked on the door the door opened with a pair of arms wrapping around her. "Hi mom, Hi Dad." she said relieved to know that they were ok. "oh my precious child I missed you so much it's so good to see you" said her mom. "look how big you are all grown up and a huntress just like your mother." Her father said and Her mom looked at Cypress " awe look at your beautiful ears just like your fathers, you make such a great faunas, we are so proud of you." Cypress smiled with a small sigh. "So, not to sound rude or anything but is your brother coming?" her mother asked and she froze. "You guys didn't get the call?" her parents looked at her strangely "we just got back from a long mission honey what do you mean the call?" Cypress began to cry at her mothers answer "Mom he's dead the white fang killed him right in front of me." she sobbed "I watched him fall." she managed to say and tears filled her parents eyes as they held their daughter close. "shh my child everything will be okay.." Her mother said trying to re-ensure her. "how mom he's dead and nothing can change that." Cypress cried out. "I know baby but I'm sure the future will be brighter" her mother tries again to calm everyone down. "Yeah, you don't know what the future holds." her father said trying to stay strong for his family. "I just miss him.." Cypress said calming down. "We all do hun." said her mother sweetly. ~A little while later~ Cypress says goodbye to her parents and headed back to Beacon. When she gets back her team is already in bed. She sighs and gets into her bed and goes to bed.  The next day she wakes up and meets everyone for breakfast. "Hey Guys." she said setting down her plate of  food next to Pyrrha. "Hey Cypress, we missed you! Right after you left we ran into Penny, she says hi by the way." An always cheerful Ruby says. "Has anyone else seen Mercury around town?" Cypress suddenly asked and her team tilted their heads. "You ran into Mercury?" Yang asked and Cypress nodded. "huh." she said simply and continued eating. "So how are your parents doing?" Ruby asked changing the subject. Cypress sighed "they had no clue what happened to Jason when I got there. They just got back  from a mission at the time so they were devastated when I told them." Ruby sighed "I'm sorry but you never know what the future holds." she said lightening the mood. Cypress nodded "that's what my father said."
