Chapter 6: It's Worst Then Coming Back Empty Handed

Cypress was just about beat Mercury to a pulp when she heard Ruby in the distance "Cypress if you don't want to be left here like your brother was you need to get over here now." Cypress was now furious tears burning her cheeks "I will get my revenge Mercury and you will be sorry!" she threatened as she took a few steps backwards and turned to the direction where she heard Ruby's voice. When she got to the plane the tears were gone but the look of sadness and furry were still on her face. "Hey Cypress did you find him?" Yang asked not noticing Cypress's facial expression. "yeah." she said simply and got onto the ship. Yang paused for a second after Cypress's reply "wait if he is not with you then he's... Cypress I'm so sorry." Yang said noticing what Cypress meant. "I should have never trusted Mercury.. not only did  we fail the mission but Mercury killed my brother." she mumbled quietly. Weiss "at least it wasn't a total lost you found out that Mercury is a traitor.." she said without thinking "not the right time Weiss." Blake said before Cypress stared at Weiss "MY BROTHER IS DEAD AND YOU SAY THIS MISSION WASN'T A TOTAL LOST?!" she yelled walking off the ship. "Cypress where are you going?" Ruby asked "I'm walking back." Cypress said simply once again and walked into the woods. She watched as the plane took off and sped past her and sighed "why would Mercury kill my brother, I thought they were friends.. I thought we were friends."She said as she headed back when she heard a twig snap behind her again and she saw a figure run in front of her. She took out her swords "I am done playing games show yourself!" she yelled and looked around. "if I did you would kill me." Mercury said from a tree a few feet in front of her. She threw her sword at the tree he was in. "You're right" she said as he dodged the blade. "Wait Cypress let me explain.." he said landing in front of her putting his hands in front of himself motioning for her to calm down. "Explain what, you killing my brother right in front of me for no reason?!" she asked with a sigh. "No, it's not like that I regret killing him I do. He was my friend but we did it to protect you.. if it wasn't your brother it would have been you." He said with a sigh "what do you mean we?" she said trying not to show how sad and confused she was. "I knew before the mission what was about to happen and I talked to your brother about it.. he agreed that it would be him and not you." Cypress looked down trying to process everything. "My brother.. died to protect me.. but you knew all along one of us was going to be killed AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!?" She yelled even more furious then she already was. "You thought it should have been between you and my brother when it involved me?" she asked not knowing what she felt now. "I know it was wrong and I'm sorry but we.. I didn't want you to be the one to die." he sighed again and she glared at him "we could  have brought back up no one had to die." she said quietly and he sighed once more "no Cypress it would have happened sooner or later..." she looked down for a minute and there was silence when she finally said "selfish." Mercury looked at her confused "what?" Cypress looked up at him "you only thought of yourself when you were thinking that my brother should die instead of me, you are selfish you never thought about how I would have felt if my bother died." Mercury "I told you already your brother and I both agreed." Cypress "I don't care." Mercury looked at her confused once again and she broke the silence "you should have been the one that died..." she said quietly and looked down pushing past him and continued walking. "WHAT DO YOU THINK I MEANT WHEN I SAID I REGRET KILLING HIM, YOU ARE RIGHT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME." He yelled at her and sighed. She then stopped dead in her tracks "you can't change the past.." He looked at her hurt by what she said yet surprised. "I know and I'm sorry could you ever forgive me?" Mercury said looking at her. "Forgive you?...No, not now... later.. maybe" she said walking away as he just stood there watching her walk away. "Ok, Thanks.." he mumbled as they went their separate ways. When Cypress got back Stormy was right there waiting "Cypress... I'm so sorry.. they told me what happened." Stormy said and walked up to her friend. Cypress calmly took a step closer then suddenly grabbed Stormy and pulled her into a hug "I miss him.." Cypress whispered quietly and Stormy sighed "me too."
