Chapter 11: Well That Happened

2 months passed since Cypress got her new team. They realized that they made a great team and they became close friends with one another.  2 months ago Shade wanted to talk to Ash because she apparently had a crush on Platinum. Cypress never really heard from Sun or Neptune again but she didn't really mind. She also ended up liking the abbreviation of her team (team CASP) a lot. She also found out she might have a small crush on Ash.~ -in their room- "hey Ash I'm going to go to the arena before the match if you want to come, I wanted to get the best seats!" She said happily sharpening her samurai swords. "oh, um no thanks I'm meeting Velvet before the tournament. We will meet up with you later though." he said referring to the rest of the team. "oh. okay have fun." She said heading out the door towards the arena with a sigh.  As she walked through the town towards the arena she thought she saw Platinum "Platinum!" she said and walked towards him. He turned around "Mercury." she gritted her teeth. "I like your new look." Mercury said with a grin. "Why are you still here?" She spat at him. "Beacon may not be a fan of me but I'm still a student at Haven Academy and I am still a participant in the tournament." He smiled evilly. She narrowed her eyes at him and went up to go get her seats. When she got into the arena the best seat was already taken by Emerald so she walked to the other side of the arena sitting in the first row to where she was directly across from Emerald who smiled a fake smile and waved. She looked down at her scroll trying to find more information on today's tournament. It was early but  some people were starting to arrive. "Are these seats taken?" A familiar voice asked. Cypress looked over seeing Sun, Sage, Scarlet, and Neptune. Sun was pointing at the seats to the right of her. "yeah they are for my team, but you are welcome to sit on the left side." Sun nodded an okay and sat down. "Long time no see Cypress hows it going?" Neptune said sitting a seat down from her once Scarlet got the seat next to her. "Meh, where have you been?" she asked curiously. "Sage here wanted to go on a team building camping trip. I heard you go promoted to a team leader. Congrats!" Cypress looked at Sage then Neptune "um well, I am pretty sure Ruby and them were getting tired of me." She said with a laugh, continuing her research. As time started to pass Stormy showed up with her team she sat a little further back but waved causing Cypress to wave back. Neptune looked Stormy's way. "Where's your brother?" He asked a little confused and Scarlet elbowed him looking at Cypress who paused. "How do you not know?" She said and he shrugged "we were gone remember." "He was killed." She sighed as her team showed up. "Neptune, Sun, Sage, Scarlet, Meet Shade, Ash, and Platinum." She said pointing at each member of her team. They greeted each other and her team sat down. There was still an hour before the tournament Velvet arrived and sat next to Ash as Cypress continued to try to find some more information on the tournament. "The tournament is a competition against the other schools to see who is the 'better academy' just for fun." Scarlet said now facing Cypress. She looked up at him "Thanks" she said with a smile and looked over her shoulder to see what her team was doing. Platinum and Shade were sitting next to each other having a great time with each other without the tournament. While Ash was.. was gone? and so was Velvet with the note on his seat she nudged Shade and Shade handed her the note knowing he got up a minute ago. She read it "Went to town with velvet real fast, be back before the tournament." She turned her attention back on Scarlet. "So how'd you know about the tournament?" "Somehow Ruby found out and told us." He said with a laugh. " She laughed "yup that sounds like Ruby." ~some time passed as they were talking and the tournament started~ Bartholomew said his usual phrase at the beginning of every tournament." This is a 2 vs 2 tournament."~He went on and finished what he was saying and the spinner started. As Cypress watched she saw her team flash slower and slower by. Then it stopped on her team. "Beacon's team Cypress VS Haven's team Sun." Both teams turned towards each other surprised. "May the best team win. But don't be upset when we win." Cypress said playfully taunting them. "Cypress Platinum and I would love to just watch." Shade said with a smile. As Scarlet and Neptune headed down towards the Battle arena Cypress turned towards Ash's seat "Ash you rea...." He still wasn't back causing her to sigh unsure if she was mad or upset. "Come on Shade, lets show these guys what girls can do." She nodded understandingly and excitedly. When the got into the arena they watched the spinner choose two lands.  -volcanic and oceanic- Cypress smiled "Neptune has a fear of water." She whispered to Shade as the arena transformed.
