We were in the middle of a great feast. We raised our glasses and drank to our hearts content.

It had been only a few months after our wedding. Bard and Thranduil came to the Erebor to rekindle our allied forces. Thorin gladly accepted. To celebrate, we were feasting in the great dining hall.

"So, are you pregnant yet?" Bain asked me.

I spit out my wine across the table. That attracted several stares.

"Bain!" Bard lectured his son. "That's very impolite."

Bain shrugged. Thorin and I exchanged a glance with wide eyes.

"Um..." I stuttered. "N-no...I don't believe that I am."

"Okay," Bain replied. "Just wandering."

Thranduil half-laughed. "That's not just something that you just wander about, my boy."

"Well, what was it like with you and our late queen?" Tauriel asked her former master.

"We had Legolas right away," he said. "6 months after we were married, to be specific." We all exchanged smirks. "You'll forgive me if I decline to do the math on that one."

We laughed. "I do believe the death of Azog had brought our species closer," Thorin mentioned.

"Aye," Fili said. "Well, that and the marriage bond between my brother and Tauriel."

Thranduil rolled his eyes. "That does seem to be a contributing factor."

"Does anybody know what happened to the Defiler's body after the battle?" Bard asked.

We all looked at each other and shook our heads.

"The orcs probably took him when they retreated," I said. "Or perhaps he's still up on that frozen waterfall."

"Should we go look?" Kili asked.

Thorin shook his head. "Not tonight."

"Oh, come on!" I urged. "Why not?"

I got up, as did the others, and we began out of the dining hall. "I want an adventure!" I complained.

Thorin rolled his eyes, but reluctantly got up and followed us. We rode on horses up to the lookout where Thorin had killed Azog.

"There's nothing here!" Thorin shouted.

"It's dark, how can you be so sure?" I shouted back.

"There is nothing on the ice, Jaedda," Thorin argued.

"He's right," Bard said. "Not even his weapons are left."

I sighed. "Well, this was a disappointment."

We rode back down to the palace. We welcomed the others to stay for as long as they wanted, but Thorin and I went off to bed.

"Perhaps it is time that you become pregnant," Thorin said.

I quickly shook my head. "No. No way. I do not want to be tied down by a child."

"Why not? There's nothing wrong with it. Erebor needs an heir anyhow."

"Isn't Fili the heir?" I asked.

Thorin shrugged. "By default."

"What if...what if Tauriel and Kili have a child?"

"It wouldn't be full dwarf."

"Well, neither would ours!" I shouted.

He shrunk back. "Oh. Sometimes I forget." He turned around and took his party furs off. "Whatever you say."

"Is that just a way for you to avoid actually saying that you love me, King Under the Mountain?" I teased.

He turned and smirked. "I don't know, Queen Under the Mountain, what say you?"

"Whatever you say."

He laughed. "Jaedda, I love you. No matter what happens, I will always love you."

I smiled. "Whatever you say," I teased once more. He rolled his eyes. "I love you too."

I kissed him on the lips, then laid down for sleep. I drifted off into the land of my dreams, meshed with the sounds of the party below us.
