"Thranduil, fetch your jewels and remove the biggest piece of it," Gandalf ordered. Thranduil nodded, dismissed Mereythl, and left.
"What exactly is the plan here?" I asked.
"We have to find a way to convince the orcs to let them go," Balin began. "Knowing Azog, he will take the gems then go back on his word and kill them. We have to figure out a way to make sure that they let them go."
"What if we requested that they bring them out first, then trade the jewel?" Tauriel asked.
"It's an idea, but there's no guarantee that they'll cooperate," Balin argued.
"How many other prisoners are there?" I asked.
"Dozens," Aragorn replied. "There's no way Azog will let them all go."
"Then...how can we save everyone?"
"Jaedda, you're the only one who can do this," Aragorn said.
"What do you mean?"
"Azog didn't attempt to kill you when you went unconscious in the treasure horde. He wants you alive for something. Which means, he won't kill you as long as you have the "Arkenstone". "
"Well, what do I do? What do I say?"
"Come with me."
I followed Strider into a library far beneath the palace, close to the cellars. He sat me down.
"Listen very closely. You must go to Azog the Defiler and distract him for as long as you can, and in any way you can. We will gather up our forces from the Iron Hills, Dale, Mirkwood, and Rivendell so we can very sneakily, counter an attack to free the prisoners."
"When will this plan commence?"
"I will have to send word, but soon." He looked me in the eyes. "Very soon."
"What do I have to do to distract the Defiler?"
"Anything you can."
We both stood up and began walking back. When we arrived, I noticed that Thranduil had returned.
"We have to protect Jaedda in every way we can while she is making her deal with Azog," Aragorn said.
"How can we do that if she's going alone?" Tauriel asked.
"If I recall correctly, the body of Smaug washed up onto the shores not far from here?"
We looked at each other and nodded. "What of it?" Balin asked.
"What if we found some way to fashion his scales into an armor that no blade could penetrate? Or used his claws and teeth for weapons? There is much we can do with this dragon hyde."
Gandalf's eyes lit up. "That's brilliant!"
"Aye," Balin said. "Think of all the possibilities!"
"I'll send my guards to salvage what they can," Thranduil said. He waved his hand and the guards ran off.
"It's settled then." Aragorn stepped in the middle of the circle that we had formed. "Our plan is in action."

Heyy guys. So I know my updates aren't exactly frequent...i apologize for that. I have a bunch of other stories going on, and a lot in my life. I have music competitions one after the other (one tomorrow, actually) and I just had to deal with a creepy Instagram stalker who made a whole Instagram page about me, posted my selfies and tagged them with hashtags that led to porn, so in the morning I woke up with all these sick new followers and gross DMs and ugh. It was a mess. Anyway they deleted the account, but still, this is what I am dealing with!
A war not yet one will be shorter than My Heart My Mountain My King. I'm sorry. About 10 chapters shorter. I just need to get it over with. I will put plenty of thought into it though, don't you worry;)
Once I finish outlawry, I will be focusing on the final book in the Thorin Oakenshield trilogy and my other LOTR fanfics.
Please vote, comment, and have a splendid day my lovelies! I love you all and appreciate you so much! I'm glad you guys aren't obsessive psychos like some people out there❤️ ILY
