It had been a couple of days since the last time that I had gone to see Brian. My guilt was growing stronger by the day but I couldn't ever admit to Caleb the truth. I was an asshole for even thinking of Brian, let alone going to see him, not once but twice. The remorse that I was feeling was getting so overwhelming that I was beginning to be overly affectionate with Caleb at home.

"I want to have a date night tonight." I announced that Saturday afternoon.

Looking up from his books, Caleb smiled but I couldn't help but pick up on the slight surprise in his expression. "A date night? What's brought this on, Sal?"

"I think we should spend some more time together." I explained simply with a shrug of my shoulders.

"We spend every day together..." Caleb chuckled softly. "Is that not enough for you?"

I couldn't help but remember the words of Brian when we had first moved in with each other, and how he was desperate for some alone time away from my needy ass. I shook my head at Caleb.

"It's never enough." I reiterated.

"Okay." He closed his book and sat up. "What do you want to do?"

"Go to the movies?" I suggested. "There's that Deadpool movie out."

"Sounds good." He agreed, standing up and brushing by me.

Caleb paused momentarily and pressed a kiss to my cheek. "I'll treat you to some nachos if you want."

"I'd like that." I accepted gratefully, kissing him back.

A couple of hours later, Caleb and I were dressed up for our evening out. I adjusted the bowtie around his neck and tucked the cotton under the material of his collar, before placing my hands along his shoulders. Looking into his eyes, I felt the heat rise to my cheeks.

"You look so handsome." I complimented.

"I don't know about that." Caleb replied bashfully, his cheeks darkening in colour.

"It's true." I insisted. "From head to toe. I love you."

"I love you too, Babe." He returned, taking my hand in his and turning for the front door. "Come on, we'll miss our movie otherwise."

Before too long, Caleb and I had our tickets in our hands and were making our way into the movie theatre. As we passed the front desk, my mind pulled back a memory from the past; Brian was pulling me over the desk by his hands at my waistcoat and was kissing me hard.

"Which screen?" Caleb asked, bringing me back to the present.

"Huh?" I confused.

"What's the screen number?" He questioned again, furrowing his brows.

"Oh...screen 7." I answered.

"Are you feeling okay? You're a little out of things, Sal." Caleb wondered.

"I'm fine." I dismissed, seizing his hand in mine and leading us both to the correct screen.

We found a couple of seats towards the back far away enough from others that we wouldn't be that disturbed during the movie. Once settled, I felt Caleb's arm drape over my shoulders before a gentle kiss was pressed to my temple.

"Damn it." He complained, pulling away. "I forgot your nachos."

Caleb stood up as my eyes followed him. "I'll be back soon."

I waved him off and immediately pulled out my phone, scrolling endlessly through my social media feed. The sound of someone clearing their throat came from the stairs leading up the aisle, but I thought nothing of it...
