The Unexpected (Ranboo x Reader)

Missing the fun

Splitting headache strikes me as soon as I open my eyes. So much emotion hit me yesterday that the karma hammer bonked me on the head today. Lane walks over to the side of the bed I was lying on and shakes my shoulders a bit. I turn to look at her still exhausted and it was definitely apparent on my face. I was still wearing Ranboos hoodie from yesterday and curled up in some fuzzy pants. I mutter a groan and I think she gets the hint.

"Y/N you are staying in bed today."

I muster another groan as I didn't sleep well last night at all. I kept waking up throughout the night with panic attacks from nightmares I kept having and playbacks of yesterday. Lane grabs me a glass of water and sets it on the side table.

"I'll be back later today and I will inform everyone on your situation. If you need anything get a hold of me."

I nod my head lightly and immediately fall back asleep as I hear the door to the hotel room click shut. I apparently had slept for 2 hours when I woke up to my phone ringing. I answered and it's Lane.

"Hey! I need your opinion real quick. I know you hate me for waking you up, buuuut what would you like to eat?"

I groan and just hang up the phone. I honestly wasn't in the mood to eat and didn't want to talk to anyone. That was when there was a knock on the door.

"Hey Y/N?!"

I sit up in my bed being silent as I wasn't expecting anyone to arrive at my door.

"Y/N?! I just swung by to see how you were. Lane said you weren't doing good so I got worried."

I got up from the bed and looked through the peep hole. It was Ranboo and I looked terrible. I ran my fingers through my hair trying to tame whatever mess of hair I had on my head. Then I opened the door. I was surprised out of all people Ranboo was the one to show up at my door. I was happy at their presence but why did it have to be today. I was in the worst headspace and looked like shit. Ranboo though didn't seem phased by my condition. They had a giant smile on their face and they looked really good today. Their hair looked extra fluffy and their expression was beaming but also lined with a splash of concerned once they seen really how bad I looked. I give them a small smile and I back up to let them in.

"Hey Ranboo..."

My voice is so horse from not using it all day which doesn't make the situation better. Ranboo walks over to me and smiles a bit as they notice something.

"You really like that hoodie don't yah"

I feel heat rise to my face as I had just remembered I was wearing the hoodie.

"Yeah it is actually really comfortable. I-... I'll get it back to you later today if you want it back..."

Ranboo walks up to me as they place a hand on my shoulder. I look up to them, even though I look like shit they doesn't seem like they care. They gives me another bit smile.

"You know what. I don't need it back. It looks good on you!"

I dip my head back down in embarrassment. Im thankful for the hoodie but like I said before I have so many. This one will be an exception though. It's from Ranboo I couldn't possibly get rid of it, I'll make room when I get home. Ranboo ended up staying at our room for longer than I thought. We hung out watched a couple of movies and they Uber eats some food to the hotel. After our second movie I realize that they had spent half of his twitch con day with me. I felt so guilty and I think they noticed.

"If you're planning on sulking at the fact that I spent half of my day with you and not at twitch con I am going to be angry."

I look up to them as we sat on my bed with a sad look. They lets out a small chuckle.

"Im kidding. But please don't feel bad I wanted to come spend today with you."

My face releases the look I had earlier and I'm relieved.

"Alright I just didn't want to be a bother."

They look at me in confusion, but before they could respond there's a knock at the door again. I hadn't heard anything from Lane today so I assume it was her coming home. I walk and open up the door and it's not who I expected. It's actually Wil. I look at him in confusion as I open up the door.

"Hey Wil. What's up?"

He gives me a relieved look and hugs me. I can feel his body untense as I believe he's happy to see me today. Wilbur ever since I had met him he has seemed like an older brother to me. It makes my heart feel warm that he came to see how I was doing. I feel Wil begin to let go and step back. I smile at him and he looks to Ranboo.

"I just came to check in how you were doing Y/N. But it seems someone helped out a lot more than I did."

He smiled at Ranboo and they turn away, I swear I catch a pink tint on their face. I smile at the interaction.

"Yeah Ranboo really was a big help today. I was feeling like shit before they came over. We had a good time. We watched a couple movies and even ordered some well deserved Mc.Donald's."

Ranboos face appears to grow more pink as I explain our day together. Wilbur looks over to Ranboo and asks then to talk in the hall for a moment. I'm a little confused by the notion but I let them leave. I sit there patiently waiting as Ranboo walks in messing with their fingers and looking at the floor. I stare over at Wil when he walks in and he gives me a big smile.

"Hey Y/N I'm going to head out for tonight. Lane should be up soon. Sorry for stopping by so abruptly but I'm glad you too had a great day."

Wil looks to both Ranboo and I as he exits the room and gives us a small wave. I smile at him and Ranboo waves as well. I turn to Ranboo and they look at me.

"So what did you and Wil talk about out in the hall?"

Their face goes pink again and it's my time to poke more fun.

"Was it about me? Am I that handsome?"

The shade of pink on Ranboos face gets deeper. I actually begin to think that is what they were talking about but I wait for their response.

"Uh actually... kinda... and you are handsome."

My face is placed in complete shock as Ranboo has just said that I looked handsome. I feel heat rise to my face and look away from them quickly.

"Uh-... I- thank you..."

We both stand there in shock but Ranboo comes out of it first.

"I- I- I think I'll head out... uh... let me know if you need anything. I really did enjoy today."

I snap out of my shock and walk over to them. I hug them standing in front of me almost breaking out into tears. No one has ever called me handsome with such a genuine tone. Ranboo hugs me back and we stay there not to long as they let go and goes to grab for the door handle. I let them leave but know I will regret not spending more time with them that night. Lane walks in around half an hour later and I inform her on everything that had happened today. Of course leaving some of the things that would lead to her giving me the smirk. But the rest of that night I ended up thinking about this day until I fell asleep snuggling up into Ranboos hoodie again.
