The Unexpected (Ranboo x Reader)

Ranboo had landed in Ontario today! But they seems a little off. I asked them last night on FaceTime call but all they said was "it's a surprise". I run around the house today ignoring that to clean before the arrive. I was very much procrastinating cleaning since I was very tired today. FaceTiming your partner until 3am really doesn't help when their gonna arrive here at my door by 9am. I sigh as the floor had been swept and everything cleaned. All I need to do is get ready for the day. I was only wearing a large t-shirt as I wanted to be comfy. But I suddenly hear a knock on the door. I assume that it's Ranboo as I look to the clock and it's says 9:15am. I start to yell in response.

"GIVE ME A SECOND I HAVE TO PUT ON PANTS"

I could hear and exasperated wheeze from behind the door and definitely know that it's them. I quickly rush to my room trying not to fall on my ass as I approach my door. After I get decent clothes on I return back to the door and open it. They stand there brightly smiling at me and we look into each others eyes for a moment before they speak.

"Glad you have pants on now that really would have been awkward."

I start to burst out laughing and so do they. We both walk into my apartment and I help them put their bags in my closet and they stop, staring at my suitcase. I give them a questioning look but choose to ignore it, I'll ask then later. They turned around quick and musters up another smile walking towards me. They embrace me and put their head on my shoulder.

"I missed you so much love. I had been so stressed lately ."

I let out a small giggle and decide to tease them.

"But what about Tubbo? I know he's your wife! He gotta be keeping you destressed."

They quickly raises their head from my neck and looks me in the eyes with a shocked look. I finally register what I said and back away shaking my hands in dismissal.

"NOT WHAT I MEANT, NOT WHAT I MEANT HOLY SHIT SORRY!"

They let out another wheeze and brings me back in for another hug. Their being quite clingy today. I wonder what's going on. Maybe I should ask them. Before I could get the chance though Ranboo gets a call on their phone. I glance over and it's Tubbo. Ranboo looks to me and back to their phone as they quickly leaves to the bathroom and shuts the door. I hate to admit it but they do be acting sus today. Now I definitely have to ask then when they get out. It takes a couple of hours surprisingly and they enter the living room. During that time I had prepared us some food for lunch and I hand them a plate I made.

"Y/N! You didn't have to do that! Thank you! Sorry I didn't realize how long I was on call for."

After we finish our meals I put our plates in the sink and walk over to Ranboo who was still sitting on a stool. I wrap my arms around their shoulders and stand behind them. I start to sway a little and Ranboo puts their hands on where mine are clasped around his chest. I lean my head down starting to get serious I'm honestly really curious what's been going on.

"So boo what's been going on? You have been acting kinda weird especially since you were on call with Tubbo in my bathroom for 2 hours."

I can tell he tenses a little bit. I get worried now. What is he hiding... is it bad? I let go of Ranboo and walk to the couch to sit down. They notice my absence and turns around on the stool and looks at me. Their eyes furrowed, worry on their face.

"Y/N... I- it's noting bad I swear to you. I just want to keep it a surprise..."

After that the topic doesn't get brought up again. We spend the rest of the time Ranboo is at my house going on mini dates to the movies, beach, and arcade. Also playing a ton of Minecraft, even sometimes me being on their streams. I had always felt way more comfortable and confident in myself when I was with Ranboo and I was breaking from my fear of streaming. The time they were here was bliss, but the month passed almost immediately. We quickly arrive at the final days their with me. They had still acted a little bit off since our first discussion. Sometimes going to talk to people in private and even type on their computer and close the lid when I come near. But the weirdest thing I would catch them do is stare at my luggage some days. It was the second to last day and Ranboo asked me to go on a picnic with them at "the cliff". We sat on our blanket eating tiny sandwiches and watching the clouds. Ranboo coughs a little which gets my attention I thought he had choked on their sandwich.

"Boo you alright? Choke on the sandwich? Finger sandwiches too big for you to handle?"

He buckled over laughing. I myself didn't think I would say that but here I am. They calm but their expression becomes a little more serious.

"Hey love I have a question to ask you. What are your thoughts on moving? You ever see yourself doing that one day?"

My eyebrows furrow and my head tilt. What an odd question to ask but I respond anyway.

"Yeh I always had thought to move to the states. Especially since now I literally don't have much holding me here."

His face brightens at my response which makes me even more confused.

"Why boo what's up? Please don't say you are moving here I will literally smack you. You would be ruining your opportunities if you did."

They chuckle a little and looks down to their hands which fills me with dread. Oh god please don't tell me their planning on moving here. Don't get me wrong I love them, would love for them to be here and see them everyday. But they are doing so well where they are. I wouldn't want to be the thing to ruin it. Ranboo begins to talk as they look up from their hands to me.

"Nooo I wasn't thinking of moving here... but I was wondering if you would move in with me..."

I look at them in shock.

"Are you sure? Don't you still live with your parents?"

They shake their head and digs into his pocket and pulls out a set of keys.

"Actually I had gotten my own apartment while I was home!"

My hands fly to my mouth and I look from the keys to them.

"BOO! I'm proud of you, but please don't tell me you bought it because of me..."

They shake their head with a smile on their face.

"Nope! I decided that it was time to move out. I didn't want to be a burden to my parents and I also needed a better office to stream in."

We are quite just staring at each other for a second before Ranboo speaks again.

"So does this silence mean a yes or no?"

I drop my hands and move over to them and hug them.

"Yes! Why the heck not!"

I smile at them and they give me a soft kiss. We made our way back to my apartment. Hand in hand ready for everything we would have to get ready and pack tomorrow. When we wake up that next morning it's a frenzy. I'm getting a hold of people and so is Ranboo. Of course we aren't going to make this moving in thing happen right in this moment. I do though want to at least come see their new place and prepare myself for moving. I inform my work and my parents of the situation. Both of them are understanding and supportive of me moving. All I'm doing now is just preparing for a trip to Ranboo's and to pack. After seeing their apartment we plan where everything is to go. All that there is left to do is to move! This new journey that I'm starting with Ranboo is gonna be great and I know that it will just turn out perfect. Once I'm all moved in I hold Ranboo's hand and lay my head on their shoulder. We sit on the couch in their place watching a movie. When it gets to the end they lean their head on mine and I can see them smile.

"Y/N I love you"
