The Unexpected (Ranboo x Reader)

IT IS SUNDAY AND RANBOO IS COMING TO SEE ME! I couldn't believe it! I woke up this morning and immediately got my entire house cleaned. Scrubbed the floor, sweeped, mopped, dusted, and washed everything. I was so tired by the time I was done but I was so excited for today. I couldn't possible think to get a smile off of my face. As I'm getting myself ready I hear my phone ringing. It's Lane! I answer immediately.

"Hey Lane how is your morning?!"

There is a silence before nothing but yelling.

"WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME THAT RANBOO WAS COMING IN TODAY?!"

I had completely forgot... I couldn't believe that I completely forgot to tell Lane that Ranboo was coming in today. I wanted to even plan stuff with Lane as well. I knew she would want to see him as she knew him longer.

"I'm sorry... I have no excuse I just completely forgot...I would love for you to do stuff with us while he is here!"

There is another silence but a small sigh afterwards.

"It's okay Y/N I bet you were just reaaaally excited to see him."

I can again feel that darn smirk. My face grows so warm because she wasn't necessarily wrong but I still knew she was being a brat.

"Yeah yeah, but I am serious I would like you to do stuff with us!"

She agrees and says we will plan something later today. As I talk to her a little longer I hear a knock at my door. I'm stunned and hang up fast. I quickly run to my door not even fully ready. I open the door and see Ranboo! He looks so good! But why? He is dressed in a fancy black suit with a red tie which confuses me a little bit. I know he sees the confused face as he stifles out a chuckle.

"Based on that face I did in fact forget to tell you where we are getting dinner."

Before I could even respond I run into his arms and engulf him. He hugs me back and the moment is magic. I feel so safe and so warm I don't want it to end. But I break the hug with my response.

"It's so good to see you! Also yes you in fact did not tell me we were going somewhere fancy or I wouldn't have joined you!"

Now this time he has a confused look on his face.

"But Y/N I want you to meet my family and they were the ones who offered!"

I give him a small smile and shake my head. I infer that we were going to have to hurry so I guess it was time to change. I let Ranboo sit at my set up as I go into my closet to change. I put on a nice dress shirt and some slacks. With a pair of dress shoes and looked myself in the mirror.

I smiled at myself in the mirror. This is the first time in a long while that I had put on fancy clothes. I'm still surprised that this fits me. These slacks in particular had been in my closet for 3 years collecting dust. But once I stop staring myself down in the mirror I walk out of my room. I look to Ranboo to assure him that I'm ready and his face is entirely pink. He stands up and eyes me up and down. He has pure shock on his face and walks up to me.

"Y/N... You look so handsome..."

My face grows the brightest shade of pink. I look up to his eyes and he looks into mine. We stare at each other for a solid minute. I feel so comfortable in his gaze. It's like I'm sitting in a field reading a book with a warm breeze on me when I look. I want to be there forever but that moment ends when we both hear his parents honk the horn outside of my apartment. Both of us look away quickly and gather our things to leave. As we make our way downstairs and out the door Ranboo rushes ahead and opens the car door for me. I smile at the gesture and get in. The car ride is overall quiet but still comfortable. Ranboo and his parents talk as I sit there messing with my hands. I after what feels like forever Ranboo put his hand on mine and I look up at him. He has a big smile on his face and nods his head towards his parents. I assume that his parents had asked a question of me but I wasn't listening.

"Sorry! I wasn't tuned in! Just too excited! What was that?"

There are a couple of chuckles from his parents as his mother responds to my confusion.

"Everything's alright darling I was just wondering if you were doing alright. You've been quiet and according to Ranboo you don't seem the type."

I let out a couple of chuckles as his parents were dead wrong.

"Oh no no I'm quite quiet when I'm- no offense to you- when I'm with new people or uncomfortable."

I show her a small smile as she looks at me.

"That's alright sweetheart I understand completely! It's your first time meeting us and we've just swooped you up and taken you somewhere!"

I smile at her and nod in reassurance. I go back to living in my thoughts. As the car ride goes on my anxiousness of these new people go away. We sing along to songs in the car, have fun conversations about random stuff and so much more. As we got to the restaurant it feels like I had known these people forever and feel so close to them. This was refreshing.
