Chapter 15 - Back To School

I woke up to the sound of my alarm beeping, school had officially started again.
I sat at the end of my bed, running through all the worst scenarios that could happen, then there was a knock at my bedroom door, "come in" I said with a shaky voice, the door opened and to my surprise it was Danny, I jumped behind my bed, hiding myself, "Danny! Hi! I thought you were my mum, oh god, I'm in my underwear" I said, he laughed and walked around to the side of the bed where I was hiding, grabbing my hand and pulling me to my feet, he looked me up and down and smiled, my cheeks blushed red, he then pushed me onto the bed, kissing me all over, I went with it for a while, until I remembered school, I gently pushed him off me, "we have school" I reminded him, he sighed and nodded, "I'll wait outside while you get ready" he said, I nodded and continued getting ready, then left my room, I took a deep breath, "let's go" I said, Danny grabbed my hand and smiled at me as we left the house.

We were almost there when I stopped walking, "Katie?" Danny said, I squeezed his hand as my heart beat fast, "you're as white as a ghost!" He said as he hugged me tight, "I can't do this!" I told him in a panicked, shaky voice, "You can do this! You have me this time" he said, he wiped a tear away from my eye and I nodded, we continued walking until we were finally at the gates, I took a deep breath, and looked up at Danny, he smiled at me.

As we walked through the school I kept my head down and continued to hold Danny's hand, Danny put his arm around me and whispered to me "baby, you're shaking. you need to calm down okay? I don't want you having a panic attack" I nodded and took deep breaths, we continued walking until I heard someone call my name, I looked up and Ally was running up to me, I flinched back, kind of hiding behind Danny, she got close and I was sure she was going to hit me, but instead she hugged me, I was too confused to hug back, as she hugged me I glanced at Danny with a confused look, he shrugged his shoulders, "I'm so glad you came back! I thought you had moved schools, listen, I'm so sorry about what happened last term, me and the girls feel really bad about it" she told me, she then looked up at Danny, "hey Danny! You guys should come sit with us at lunch" She asked him, and without even asking me he agreed.
We then made our way to class, and sat in silence, he never asked me if I was okay with it.

As the lunch bell rang, me and Danny met up with Ally and followed her.
I couldn't figure out why she was suddenly being nice to me, but when we reached her group of friends it hit me, Danny. Now that Danny was dating me, they had to be nice to me to stay friends with Danny.

We sat down on the grass with all Ally's friends, they were all talking to Danny, asking how his holidays had been and what he'd been doing, some of them even seemed to be flirting with him.
Not once was I included in the conversation.
"I'm going to the bathroom" I said to Danny, he didn't even listen to me, he was too busy listening to Bella and Cassie talk about their boring holidays, so I left.
I had no where else to go, so I sat in a toilet stall and ate my lunch.

The bell rang but I couldn't go to class, I was too upset, I really didn't feel like sitting in a room surrounded by people I don't like, listening to a teacher carry on about science, I just didn't care.
So I left. I couldn't go home, I didn't want my parents to worry, so I went to the park, I sat there for hours reading a book, but I couldn't really concentrate, all I could do was wonder if I should've picked Josh instead, and just go back to Australia with him, where I had friends.
"KATIE" I heard someone yell, I peeked over the small wall I was leaning against and saw Danny looking for me, I looked at the time, "4:00pm, shit!" I whispered to myself as I realised school ended an hour ago and I should've been home by now, I crawled along the ground so that Danny couldn't see me and hid in a bush, I really didn't feel like seeing him.
I peeked out of the bush and saw him walk into the park, still calling my name, I took a deep breath, I should probably come out and at least talk to him, but as I almost took a step out of the bushes, I saw Ally and Cassie come around the corner, following Danny, "let's just go! She's obviously not here" Ally said, "yeah, and this is totally boring" Cassie added, Danny shook his head, and I couldn't believe the words that left his mouth, "I guess you're right" he said, I sat down in the bush as tears rolled down my face, I had to bite the sleeve of my sweater so that I didn't make a noise.
I watched as Danny left with Ally and Cassie, I loved him, but I never wanted go see him again.
