Chapter 5 - Relationship Status

I checked my Facebook messages, Josh had seen my message, but hadn't replied, I clicked onto his profile and there were multiple girls commenting on his relationship status change;

Taylor: Hope you're okay josh xx
Hannah: <3
May: message me x
Hayley: here if you need to talk xo

I burst into tears, I called josh over 10 times, but every time I just got his voice mail. I then called my old best friend, Jessica;

She answered "hello?"
"Hey, Jess, it's Katie... I need to talk to you, I'm having some troubles with Josh, he won't text or call me, I'm scared"
"Forget it." She replied "you haven't replied to any of my messages, or answered any of my calls, I don't want anything to do with you" she hung up on me.

I'd lost all my friends and my boyfriend, I was all alone, living in a house, town and country I hated.

I miss sitting on Sydney's beaches, in the sun with my friends and my boyfriend, I even miss my old school and my teachers. The teachers at my new school are just so posh and horrible. Dying didn't seem like such a bad thing right now.

I stayed in bed all day, listening to music.

There was a knock at my bedroom door. "Come in" I said, Danny walked in, I quickly sat up and fixed my hair. "Oh" I said "I thought you were my mum." He sat next to me on the bed and hugged me "you can talk to me" he said, I looked up, to try and stop myself crying, but it didn't work, I lay back down on my bed, and now that I'd started, I couldn't stop crying, he lay down next to me with his arms around me, kissing my forehead "it's okay" he repeated until I'd calmed down, I ended up falling asleep.

I woke up in his arms a few hours later, I rolled over and he kissed my nose "I have a boyfriend" I told him "well, I think I do..."
He looked confused, "he changed his relationship status to complicated after he found out you and I were friends and now he's talking to all these other girls and ignoring me"
Danny looked upset, "I like you" he said. I looked into his eyes, "I think I like you too" I replied "that's the problem"

"I don't want to tell you to break up with your boyfriend, I don't want to be the one to make you unhappy. So if you want to stay with him, then do it, but I'm not leaving you, I'll always be your friend" he said.

I couldn't help myself, I pulled myself closer to Danny and started kissing him, we kissed for over 10 minutes, I really was falling for Danny, and I was falling hard and after everything Josh has done... Well I'm not sure I love him anymore.

When Danny left I rang Josh, I knew what I'd done was wrong, it went to his voice mail, yet again;

"Josh, it's Katie, call me when you get this, I need to tell you something ...bye."

That was the first time in 2 years that I hadn't told Josh I loved him.

Monday was the last day of school before the school holidays, I didn't go. Mum and dad were working so I decided to stay home.
