"Millie! I promise you, I didn't know this would happen. I would never want to hurt you, you are my girlfriend's baby sister and one of the sweetest people around!" -
Her eyes stung with tears as she folded the crisp letter with her finger tips. God, her heart was broken but she'd been struggling and she didn't want anyone to get hurt yet, they would despite the attempts. She slid the note into the soft coat pocket then slipped away into nothingness. It broke her heart of course but she couldn't stay. It would only make her worse, her world was crashing around her and she had to shield everyone around her.
Sadie went home and ran up to her mother who knew exactly what she was thinking which made her very heart ache. "Sads, go get ready alright? We'll leave shortly. Is there anything you want me to give your friends?" God, Sadie thought, she had so many things to give but others to keep. Sadie sprinted up to her room and put what she wanted to give into labeled plastic baggies each with a little with a note alongside it.
After all of that was put together, she focused on getting herself ready for the voyage which was the one she'd been dreading forever. She fought back tears as she neatly packed her bags and squeezed the side of her arm. "Mom, I'm ready! Everything is packed and ready.. I have stuff for the others in bags." Sadie only shouted as she pulled off her rings, she gave finn the ring he'd given her on her 11th birthday alongside a necklace chain. Sadie pulled the bags into a neat pile then took them with her downstairs.
Sadie hugged her mother once more before heading in the car with her hood over her head and rested her cheek against the soft plastic. Her suitcases were in the back while the zipped up plastic baggies sat in her mother's purse almost staring at her. The first stop was to drop off Sadie, which hurt both of them immensely but it was for the best. "I love you, I'll come get you when I'm told.. good luck baby." Her mother kissed Sadie's forehead as she hopped out of the car, rushing into the building while rain drops splattered the redheads cheeks.
The gentle thudding up the stairs made Lilia jump up but she remembered what Millie had said just a bit ago, "i have another shes 10 and her names Madi. She's probably downstairs" she instantly calmed down. the room door creaked open to show a brunette with an apple in hand who almost jumped seeing more than just her young sister. "Holy shit- Mills are you alright?!" Lilia would admit, she didn't expect for all of them to have the thick English accent Millie and Ellie shared.
The lanky raven headed boy went inside of his house to see a little bag on the coffee table labeled with his name then his sisters right next to it. he picked up his bag to examine the hand writing and his heart sank when he realized it was Sadie's writing. So, he tore open the bag and pulled out the note which was neatly folded.
Dear Mcgoo, I'm sorry for leaving without warning. i just haven't been me for a bit and i'll hopefully return back to you at some point soon. I don't know when that day will be as of this moment, i hope it's soon. Take whats in the bag to remember me for the time being i love you goofball. I'm sorry again, youre the absolute best best friend anyone in the world could ask for. with love, shady Sadie :)
Finn felt tears streaming down his cheeks as he gently pulled out the faded rainbow ring he'd gotten her for her birthday so many years prior and a chain to put it on. Alongside polaroids of them that he knew Sadie loved dearly. He felt awful that he couldn't be there for her, she's his best friend and now he doesn't have her. "Come back to me soon sink.. please."
Once Jill came over to the familiar house that was the Wolfhards home, she saw Finn sobbing on the couch which made her rush over to him. "What's wrong what happened?!" Jill rushed out as Finn reached down and pulled out Lilia, Gaten, Caleb, Ellie and Millie's bags from under the table. He passed them over to Jill and she knew exactly what to do. "okay.. I'll give them out. I'm sorry Finn, really.."
Gaten and Caleb were yelling at each other in the school parking lot with laughs escaping their lips as Gaten's back was rested against the car door. Maybe this was one of the things that calmed them down after a long day of learning somewhat useless things but it was routine for them.
The redhead sat on the floor of her cleaned room and gently propped the photos she brought with her against the windowsill. Her once bright eyes now seemed so dull and she wished she could be alright so she could go back home. If only it was that easy. it would take time and patience for her to get better. Time, Sadie thought, how much time? Time was now her bitter enemy as the wall clock ticked in its gentle rhythm which made Sadie want to cry out for anyone to hold her, especially Millie.
Madi sat down on the edge of Millie's bed as Ava pressed her head against Millie's collar bone and quietly fell asleep to the sound of her heart beat. "Yeah, I'm just sick that's all. How was school today Mads? Oh that's Lilia Wolfhard, Finn's sister" Millie coughed into her forearm as Madi furrowed her eyebrows ever so slightly and looked at Millie for a moment. "Are you and Finn twins?" Madi asked abruptly which caused Lilia to laugh and sit up with a hand running through her dirty blonde hair.
The now group of boys waited for Ellie to exit the school before they went anywhere. Louis wasn't even sure when Jill left but he knew she was safe due to her telling him that she went to Finn's to see if Lilia came home yet. He didn't understand how all of them could leave at different times and the others not know about it. Yet, it was his job to make sure Ellie got home safely because if she didn't Millie would probably try to hurt him.
Ellie laughed as she looked at the group of boys standing and tilted her head, getting a dead serious vibe from them which freaked her out. "Okay, can someone tell me why you are all being statutes that would be really great boys."
