Finn shakily stood up with a bright red nose like Rudolph. He practically sprinted out of the house, ignoring the girls calling after her. Just like Jill had said, no one can understand the pain of having the person they love go away without warning. Lilia couldnt even process that he had sprinted out of the house until he was already gone. "I feel like they might be inseparable until Sadie comes back"
He pushed open the front door to see Louis, Gaten and Caleb already there but welcomed him with open arms regardless. "Mill, Finn's here.." Louis whispered to the sobbing brunette who looked over at Finn and opened her arms up to him. There was no point in scolding the poor boy when she felt just as bad as he did. It wasn't going to help anything.
The next few weeks, were really hard on the group of teenagers. Millie and Finn ended up getting a close bond to each other due to what occurred. Ellie started hanging out with Gaten and Caleb more. In general, it wasn't the exact same as before but it wasn't such a drastic change to the world around them.
Louis often spent time with the dark headed brunettes after school and during lunch break which always brought a smile onto their faces. Yet, it couldn't stop the feeling of hurt that Sadie hadn't written her but she wrote a letter to almost every one else. It broke her heart that she had to find out that Sadie was okay via someone else.
Of course, Millie wasn't going to say but what else is a girl supposed to think when their girlfriend won't send them a letter but would send her twin sister one? By this point she absolutely avoided getting the mail or hanging out with Lilia and Jill who she adored to bits but it hurt to be with them.
Millie was happy for her best friends and she always would be but it hurt to see them happily together. For no other reason besides her missing Sadie and she told them that, just so they knew that she didn't hate them or were avoiding them without explanation.
Winona even noticed a shift in her girls since everything happened. Madi, Ava and Millie would be cuddled up on the couch more than anything and when Ellie would come home, she'd lay right with them as if she was the missing puzzle piece.
The girls were in their hug pile until the phone rang which caused Millie to climb out of the pile and rush over to the phone. "Hey! You've got Millie"
"Millie! It's Sadie, she's back!" was the first thing to be rushed out of the boys mouth which caused Millie to gasp loudly.
"Where is she, finn? Is she okay?!" Millie was absolutely happy that Sadie was back home but she was terrified that she wasn't okay and Finn understood why. He was even scared that there was a part of Sadie that wasn't doing any better.
Before Millie could even open her mouth to reply to something Finn just said, the front door got a knock and she told Finn that she'd be right back then handed the phone of to Ellie who was more than happy to talk to her boyfriend.
When she tugged open the front door her jaw almost dropped to the floor when she saw the bright red hair that belong to the one and only Sadie Sink.
"Sadie!" Millie squealed as the girls tackled each other into the biggest hugs imaginable and the soft aw's coming from the room made Millie's cheeks turn bright pink.
Yet, it was all too good to be true. The little hands of Ava and Madi gently shook Millie awake which caused her eyes to gloss over with slight tears. It wasn't true, Sadie wasn't home. It had been weeks since she saw Sadie or directly heard from her.
"Mill, it will be okay.. mummy said to get you up so we can go get chocolate chip pancakes!" Ava said gently as she gently poked her big sisters cheek and watched the girl get up after only a few pokes.
"Okay, I'm up! Tell Mum that i'll be down in a few minutes. I need to change out of my pajamas" Millie gave a weak smile to her little sisters who nodded eagerly and left the room.
Millie went over to Ellie's closet to take out a flannel to throw on over her black tank top which seemed to pair well with her jeans. "Ellie! Just know I did steal my flannel back thank you!" Even though she sounded exactly like herself, she wasn't but who would know? She just needed to let her emotions go and wash over her so this could all stop.
That was most definitely better said than done.
The steps seemed hollowing as the memory of when Sadie stayed with her when she was a crying mess and how they ran up the steps together. God, everything reminded her of Sadie and it broke her heart.
With Louis, he could see how much this hurt his life long best friend and he hated that he couldn't do anything to help her. What on earth could he do besides give her endless support? In the end, a part of him knew that it was all he would be able to give.
"Mills has arrived! Mummy, let's go!" Madi smiled as Winona playfully rolled her eyes and hugged her second oldest.
"How are you holding up kid?" the question was simple but truthfully she had no idea if she was holding up or if she felt alright.
"Well, I'm trying my absolute best. Now Madi and Ava woke me up in the promise of chocolate chip pancakes so, i hope we're going to get them Mum!"
Life finally seemed as if the ease settled back into place everywhere else around them but none of them were sure if the ease would last long. All anyone could do was hope.
With a gentle knock on the door, a familiar Wolfhard made way into the house and gave his girlfriend a big hug as Ava and Madi hugged him alongside Ellie.
"Ah, my favorite family! Sorry Lili couldn't make it, she's out with Jill but i brought my dad! He wanted to come" Finn laughed as David made his way in and smiled at everyone in the room.
Finn was quick to introduce everyone to his dad but before he could say anything about Winona, David beat him too it.
"Winona?! Is that really you?" David breathed out a bit breathlessly and pulled her into a tight hug before he looked at the kids once again with a gasp.
"Holy shit! I haven't seen Millie or Ellie since they were like 2! Oop sorry, i apologize for my language. I don't need ava to repeat what I said.." David nervously laughed as Finn gave Millie a gentle hug before Ava hopped on her back.
"Now, since the reunion of a life time is over. Can we please go get pancakes? I'm actually really hungry and Ava is hanging off of me like a sloth" Millie said carefully as she grabbed onto Ava's legs to make sure she didn't fall and playfully huffed.
