Her brown eyes flickered between the boys. Hoping to see if one of them would crack, she knew that Louis was the first one to crack. he couldn't keep big secrets away from anyone to where he had to be told everything last minute. Just then, Louis got a text from Jill. "We just need to get you home Ellie, Jill has things for all of you from someone. We just need to go. So, who's driving?"
Caleb was the first one to volunteer and the group all compiled into his car. No complaints escaping anyone's lips. Ellie directed caleb to her house where sure enough, Jill sat on the front steps holding a basket full of baggies. Jill hadn't gone inside, she just couldn't until the others got their bags because she couldn't bare to see the hurt on Finns face on her girlfriend's face without her and one of her favorite girls without her twin being near.
Sadie sat in the quiet little common area, reading her favorite book which brought her a wave of calmness and she was slowly feeling okay again. She looked over to her left to see a girl with deep brown hair that reminded her of Finn and her mannerisms reminded her of Millie. God, how she missed her cute Brit. She slowly exhaled as she closed her book and scratched the side of her arm.
The girl looked over at Sadie and gently placed her hand out with a smile. "I'm Olivia Rodrigo." Sadie nervously laughed and shook her hand as she held her book in her other hand. "I'm Sadie Sink, it's nice to meet you Olivia. Where are you from?" Sadie gently placed her hands back onto her book as the girls spoke to each other. Sadie was just happy that she didn't feel like she had no friends here. She finally had another friend.
Louis was the first to get up to Jill who sadly looked up at him and slightly shrugged her shoulders as he sat down next to Jill. The remaining three ran over to the others and furrowed their eyebrows out of pure confusion. "Jilly, what's wrong? Why are you holding a basket full of goodies?" Ellie questioned as Jill handed Ellie, Gaten and Caleb their bags only keeping Lilia and Millie's.
They all tore open their bags, each one of them getting different things alongside a different note got each of them. Ellie had tears filling her eyes but she blinked them away before looking at Jill who looked down at the bags sadly until Ellie saw Millie's bag. "Oh no.. Millie's going to be absolutely crushed.. I'm guessing this is why you wanted us here." Jill only nodded as Ellie opened the front door and the girls went inside alongside Louis who followed right behind them.
Ellie was the first one to open the room door which caused the girls on Millie's bed to sit up and look over at the three at the door, all sharing the same look of confusion on their faces. "What's wrong El?" Ellie wordlessly walked over to Millie and handed her the bag. Millie furrowed her eyebrows and gently tugged open the bag, pulling out the letter first. A wave of nerves went over her body as she pulled out the perfectly folded notebook paper and unfolded it.
Dear Millie, Hi my love.. I'm sorry for the hurt this might cause you. let's pretend that I'm not in love with you, let's pretend that this isn't breaking my heart.. let's pretend that we don't know each other and that I'm just some stranger to you. I don't know when I'm coming back to you but the last thing I want to do is hurt you, i guess i am anyway. I remember the day I laid my eyes on you and my heart fluttered. That feeling won't ever leave me when I'm around you but.. I need to heal. I know Finn, Ellie, Louis, Jill, Lilia, Gaten and Caleb will take care of you. I'm so beyond sorry for this. Millie's heart shattered into a million pieces while tears streamed down her cheeks and Ava wrapped her arms around her big sister. Madi instantly climbed right next to Millie and rested her head against her sisters shoulder. Lilia looked at Jill and got up then ran over to her. "We need to go to Finn, if Millie's sobbing over this Finn is doing the exact same thing. Let's go Jill" Lilia rushed out and the pair of girls left the house, it seemed as if the boys were thinking the same thing a bit prior.
Lilia ran inside her house to see Finn crying into a pillow with the whitest knuckles she'd ever seen. On the girls way over, Lilia read her note and got her item which was an iris colored bracelet. "Finn.." was the first thing to escape Lilias lips as she sat down right next to the sobbing boy who's nose was bright red. Finn had no words, his body was aching. His best friend isn't here and he wished that she was okay, that it was all just a prank but looking at Lilia he realized that it wasn't just a prank.
He could see the hurt in her eyes and even in Jill's who had just gotten back from delivering the notes to everyone who had one. That's what got him to thinking. "L-Lils d-did Millie get h-hers?" Finn stammered as he rubbed the falling tears off of his cheeks and thickly swallowed. "Yeah.. she did Finn. She's home with Ellie and her baby sisters who are comforting her. She honestly seems like you. Pretty upset but for her, she's more heart broken than anything. She'll be alright I know it"
Jill looked at the pair of siblings and slightly shook her head. "Millie won't be alright, not for a while. she doesn't know when her girlfriend is going to be back as Finn feels the same about his best friend, she's sick and she doesn't deal with emotions lightly. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude at all but I'm just being realistic. I've known the girl forever and when her dog ran away, she cried for weeks until he came back. One day of sobbing won't help."
