The darkness casted an uneasy shadow over everything. It was a fearful feeling as the night critters were the only noises out there. Everyone was silent, some slept in their secret corners and camps. Some did late night stalking to get ahead of the game. But, it didn't help that everything was running in a slow and steady pace.

The children that played this game, were unmatched. Demons and humans alike were joined in this, and although the human children were picked off first for their frail nature one still remained, it was you. 7 children were in the start of the game. And it should've ended within a few days..however, only 4 have died off. There were three. You, Layla and Dennis. But, with only three children left it seems like the tensions within the world outside of the game was left in shambles. Nobody expected you to get this far. The child who cowered in the trees waiting for everyone to pick eachother off, it felt as tho someone was tipping the game in your favor. Because of this, the watchers had decided to up the anti and add a few more players to shake up the stalemate between the three remaining players.

The excitement over the world, when 6 new players were added, was enough to shadow the questions over why the baby of the first set was still alive. 6 new children ranging from the age of 12-6 all came into play. They started on opposite corners of this map, and they were on the hunt. Despite their age these children have all been Designed for this type of play. They were strong, trained, and all around vicious. There should be nothing that was helping you, a small human with no magic or special talents. So it came as no surprise when some of the children had tried to make b-lines right into the trees. They were bloody hungry little demons. And although they had an unfair advantage, it was doing wonders for the programs ratings in the demon dominated world. The watchers had begun to see that it had nothing to do with the game that kept people interested, it was the general killing and slaughtering of kids that kept them entertained. It was a sick and twisted way of thinking but it was an easy and legal cash grab.

There wasn't any warning to the three survivors that there was going to be anymore competition and because of that, Dennis's screams had come out of nowhere and out of place. It shook your core as you wondered how violent his attack was. He was on your trail, along with Layla but they had seemed to separate. But, relatively you were all in the same area as eachother and for that, his screams. Could be heard.

Your anxiety sprang and you no longer felt safe in your tree. You knew that there was something wrong. Something, had changed in the game. You bit your lip hard and then grabbed your bag as you slid down the tree. You had to go and figure out what was going on before something came after you. In this whole game you had been defensive and into hiding. But now you knew that that just wasn't possible anymore. There was something bigger, coming for you.

You scanned your eyes around the trees and the surrounding area, the whole place was designed to mirror what a typical forest would have. Trees, a few ponds. Some wildlife. But one major thing it had was no paths, no cleaned up and well kept areas. Everything was designed to make things harder for the player who only had a few smaller items in their bag. It was supposed to be a quick three day killing show, with on survivor and everyone would move on with their lives while the chosen child was sent out for special training. However after weeks of the game continuing to have low kill rates, fast deaths and a loop of nothing. It was time for things to get shaken up. You began to realize this as you were running blindly in the night of the forest. It was a still and uncomfortable silence after the death of Dennis. You didn't really know the boy well besides for an off handed training session. However, other than that you did everything to avoid anyone. So now, with food running low and an even more of a dangerous threat. It was your time to take off.

You didn't know much about the area, as it seemed to just not make sense in your head. But your goal was to just try and get as far away from whatever the threat was as possible. You didn't know if it was an animal or what, but all you knew was that it caught Dennis by surprise and that was scary to you. You thought you had been in the clear, until you felt something fly past your face and a knife, then was lodged onto a tree Infront of you. Your eyes widened as you turned around. You were then face to face with another child. You didn't recognize the kid. His eyes were a pitch black, his hair was a honey brown. He didn't look like any of the kids you had witnessed since starting.

"W...who are you?" You said softly as you were afraid of what you'd find out.

The child didn't say anything, instead it just took a few steps closer to you. It had hoped that that knife would've caught you and because of that he had used his only weapon. You realized this once you saw the child hesitate, and so you turned around and ripped the knife out of the tree. It was time, to get offensive.
