Take a Walk

Two men walk side by side in the woods, they're tired but their determination keeps them going. They would not rest until they have found what they wanted.

"I think that all of this walking isn't really getting anywhere." One of the men finally said with an exaggerated sigh. "It's been too long. By now she could be dead and all we are doing is walking around the woods. Its not like she wandered off. She was kidnapped. You witnessed it with your own eyes."

"Personally, I have to agree with you Masky, however it's the bosses orders to keep walking around these woods; however, if you have a better idea let me know." The other man said with a sigh.  "Anything would be better than walking around here so just spit it out"

The first man -Masky-  put his hands into his pocket and then he pulled out a small chain with a cracked piece of sapphire dangling from the end. "There is a place where we can probably find more information than we need. After all, if the person you saw had that much power then there is no doubt she could be there"

Silence fell between the two for a good five minutes. The only sounds that were heard in that time were the small chirping and cries from the night time wood life. Eventually the other man nodded, "Alright. I think you have a strong enough case to persuade me. If you're right then we might have a bigger problem to face, but if you're wrong then we have to deal with slender wrath about wasting a gem." His voice seemed breathy and small. Almost as if he wasn't sure about the words that were spilling through his mouth. However, at this time, he had no other choice but to follow the words of his companion.

"Don't worry Hoodie, I have a strong feeling about this. And usually my intuition are right. So just hold on." Masky said as he grabbed Hoodie's hand and threw the gem down onto the ground and stomped on it as hard as he could. As he did so, the gem shattered just enough to puff out a rich blue cloud of smoke that surrounded them. The next thing either of them knew, they were standing in the middle of a crowded street filled with natural born demons and other evil phenomena.

The area around them seemed to be like a normal city. Tall buildings, cars, signs... But not in any language they were used to. But the thing that set it apart from the area in earth is that the only color that could be seen was different hues of red and black. Even the trees and the people. They seemed to shine a red cast over them. It was unclear why this realm had problems with it's color, but it is said that when demons visit earth on their first time, their eyes freak out. Their minds are completely blown as the colors they have never seen before fills their vision. It was always a weird thing to watch them freak out, grab things, rub their eyes. Or so the boys have been told.

"It's good to see that the old trick still works" hoodie said as he let go of Masky's hand.

"Yeah seems like the rumors of blocking them were just a bluff to try and keep us out." Masky said in a low mumble as they began to walk. Unsure of where to start looking or even how to go about their search, they just decided to walk around on the busy street.

Soon the two began to get an uneasy feeling in their chest. They looked at each other as soon as it hit and they knew right then and there that the other was feeling the same thing. Hoodie then began to look around and noticed how others were also on edge and he then noticed it. Two cloaked demons walking down the street. Their heads were low, their red capes grazed the cement as they walked.

"Its his minions." Masky said as low as he could as to not bring attention. Hoodie nodded. He didn't need Masky to tell him who they were. The way they walked together, the way their aura was heavy and extremely tampered with, he knew right away.

"Follow them" he said softly and the two of them began their hunt. They knew it was best to keep their distance because if they were to be caught by them it would only cause problems for everyone. As they followed, they noticed that everyone there started to not just walk in a chaotic way, one side of the sidewalk moved down the other moved up. But also, as people moved past the pair, they would make sure that they moved out of the way and not touch them.

Eventually they got close to them, near them enough but still hidden in the crowd to hear their not so quiet whispers as they spoke German, a rare language down here but conveniently a language Hoodie was very fluent in.

"You know of that girl we have captured in the earth world." One hissed, his tone dark and heavy there was a big distortion to it but Hoodie was still able to translate it to himself.

"What about it? It hasn't died yet?" The other one also hissed, there was less distortion but the tone was almost the same.

"No, not yet. They weren't able to knock her down in the maze. But, they want to put her right against the other kids. They think that she is special. A human with abilities."

"I doubt it. Humans are a waste of time. They have nothing useful to them besides for their easily bendable minds. It would be better to just sell her as a servant." The second one lifted it's head slightly and then put it back down.

"They say that after a while of the shockings, she didn't even feel them, and she was guided by something to the end. She's not even 10. I forget the age.... 4... 6? Somewhere in that range" the first one seemed to be very interested in this girl.

"She just built a tolerance to it. Most kids do." This person was very in disbelief of this girl's abilities.

"Not humans. And not at the voltages they were using. She should be dead and for her to actually be resting and getting ready for a fight is very interesting. The master will start to take notice of this girl. She might even become one of us if she proves to be strong enough."

"There is no way he would take on a human girl. She wouldn't live long enough to fulfil his needs." The second one was very insistent

"Are you jealous of the human?" The first one snickered. "A little toddler of a human is making you jealous" he teased lightly.

"Its not that. I just feel like this realm is starting to attract more attention to the humans and I would rather keep this place the way it is. The other day I could've sworn I started to see other colors. Like that of earth."

Hoodie and Masky decided that they didn't need to hear anymore and they walked off across the street. They kept their heads low until they turned a corner away from them. There was a few seconds of silence as they walked into an alley but as soon as they did hoodie began to speak.

"All of my money goes on that being (y/n)." He whispered.

"But they said it was a human with abilities... Last I heard she didn't have any with us and I doubt she would actually develop them. There is no way she would be able to. She is completely human." Masky said with a slight aggravation to his voice.

"Still, this means that the child slave trade is running. Meaning that if someone took her, whether she is the girl they are talking about or not, there is a high chance that she is being held there as well." Hoodie said trying to come up with a safe middle ground.

Masky nodded slowly, "Now that I can agree with. Something seems a little too off about it though. But if I were you I would let slender know about our findings. Leave nothing out. He will be able to decide on what to do from there. I will stay here and find anything else I can from the locals." He pulled out a gem from his pocket and handed it to him. "Good luck"

Hoodie threw the gem down at that instant and stepped on it. By time the smoke cleared, he was gone."
