This chapter is dedicated to Bannymay. Thank you for your continuous support and comments. You're adorable.
--You hobbled down the hallway, your hair was pulled back in two pony tails off of the side of your head. You wore a plain white shirt that was way too long on you and a pair of shorts that had to be held up with a tightly tied strand of string in place of a belt.
You were not like other girls your age, you didn't have toys, you didn't have an imagination. You were too smart and too invested in learning to have time for such things. At just the age of two you already were learning three different languages, English, Spanish, and German. You also had a basic education in Asl. (American Sign language). You didn't get read sweet stories to, instead anytime someone read to you it was all important notes, or anything with important educational training. You were building your mind up early.
"There you are (y/n)." Jane said as she walked beside you. "Aren't you supposed to be reading with Hoodie?" She looked down at you with a curious glance. It wasn't like you to defy routines.
You stopped walking and you looked up at her with a little pout "I don't want to go today miss Jane." you're voice sounding as sweet as a three year olds should be, but still with a strong pronunciation of words.
These words shocked Jane, she wasn't used to hearing things like this come out of your mouth. Infact, nobody has heard you defy an ordered rule. You were a quiet girl, always alert and listening, you followed the rules. You worked hard for your end of the week reward.
"Well what's going on? Is there something bothering you?" Jane asked, she wished she could pick you up to give you the comfort, but she knew that slender would put an end to it real quick.
"Well, nothing is wrong miss Jane. I just feel like roaming around." your voice trailed off for a little bit as you looked around the hallway. Your mind wasn't like other girls and you didn't really have a clear imagination. You didn't think of any scary things that might be in the dark, and you never hoped to be a princess. You just... Exsisted. Your mind was numb to those things and sometimes you'd find yourself feeling empty. Feeling... Different. All you ever thought about was survival and training. And when you didn't have that to think about you found yourself just being silent. Today was one of those days. "axeually... Haf you ever fought that maybe there is somefing more than books?" you still struggled on a lot of words which sveryone found adorable.
Jane let out a little sigh and she got down on one knee and put her hands on your shoulder. She hated doing this to you. But she couldn't change the rules. "Listen here girl, don't question the things slender has in store for you. If you have any questions. Bring it to him. We are not obligated to give you any answers." With that hand stood up and she started walking again.
"you... You all always say that!" You whined and stomped your feet. A little tantrum was coming your way again. "it's not fair!" You cried out of frustration and you ran away from her.
You kept running until you got to a set of stairs. The mansion had three floors and two basements. You didn't know what the basements had, but you knew about the three floors and you've explored every hallways besides for the hallway on the west wing of the second floor. You were not allowed down there under any circumstances and you never really thought to check it out anyways. You held onto the bars of the railing tightly as you walked down them.
"(y/n) you are late." you felt the floor tremble under your bare feet and you let out a little whimper as you stepped off of the last step.
"Papa slendy... " you said softly as you looked up and up... And up.. And the faceless man. You fiddled with the hem of your shirt and he swayed from side to side.
"Why we're you not in class?" He was not playing any games with you. He didn't even acknowledge your statement.
"I... I didn't feel like it.... Today..."
"Are you sick, or unwell, are you seriously harmed or in danger? Perhaps the roof is on fire, or there is a war going on outside?" He tapped his foot impatiently at you.
"n-no... But!" You started but got quickly cut off.
"No. Buts. (y/n) This is unacceptable behavior and I will not tolerate it. If you feel that you are too good for your lessons, then so be it. I will place you in a harder class where you're outside all day in the heat or the cold and you will train your little muscles until your arms fall off. Am I clear?" He watched as you startedto tremble. Your eyes watered again and you sniffled shamelessly. You rubbed your eyes taking his words a little too extremely.
"I... Understand papa." You looked down at the floor.
"Great. Now get to those lessons. Imediently. Hoodie shall not be kept waiting any longer." He put his hand on your head as he walked past you.
You stomped your foot on the ground one last time before you turned away and started walking to the library. The first floor, had a lot of bigger rooms. The kitchen, two dining rooms, a living room, two bathrooms, a small study, four bedrooms and one gigantic library. You spent most of your time in the library studying and learning as much as you could in a set amount of time.
--
You jumped awake when a ruler tapped harshly infront of you on the table. You rubbed your eyes and looked for the source of the sound. Hoodie, sitting across from you neatly placed the ruler down.
"I'd appreciate it, if you'd stay awake for my class. I don't teach slackers. Now repeat after me in German. I like to walk in the woods"
You looked at him groggily and you rubbed the sleepiness from your eyes and tiredly repeated with a sloppy accent "Ich gehe gerne im Wald"
He shakes his head and he sighs. "where is the accent. You sound too American. I need authenticity." he slammed the ruler against the table again, almost hitting your hand. You jumped back in surprise and you stare up at him with a shocked look. This must've surprised him too because he out down the ruler and tried to reach out to you "H-hey kid you alright I didn't mean to spook you."
You looked down at the table and you remained silent. You bit your bottom lip softly and you shake your leg. You weren't used to people being sorry. It was such a rarity for someone to claim when they were wrong.
"You're... Dismissed." He said after five minutes of silence. He got up from the table collecting his things and he looked down at you, his heart aches for your Case. He wished there was something he could do to raise your spirits.
You spent the rest of the day walking around the library, there wasn't very many things that caught your eye, mostly for the fact that every book in here weighed almost as you you were about to give up hope for something interesting when you saw a very skinny book wedged inbetween two big dusty books. The book was had a bright blue spine. You walked up to it happy that it was right at your eye level. You pulled it off of the shelf and you looked at the cover. You saw three bears and a girl with bright blond hair. You couldn't read the book. But you recognized that the language was English. You dusted off some of the dust off of its hard cover. You brought it to the back corner of the room and you sat down on the floor and did the first Childish thing in your life. Look through a picture book.
