You grabbed onto a lower branch and pulled yourself up. You began panting, you lost track of the hours, the days. All you knew was that the sun has set and risen more than a few times. At some point you began to wonder if it was an illusion. You pulled yourself and then sat on the branch tight against the trunk.

You didn't expect the game to last this long, infact you thought that the others would've killed each other faster than this. You spent time with the others and knew that they were all plotting to end it as quick as they could. Maybe it was ploy, maybe none of them could bring themselves to do it. Or maybe.... They were adding more players, to keep the game interesting.

You, were not amused. You were tired, hungry and above all else, scared. You spent most of your time hiding. Keeping high in the trees, away from wandering eyes. You tried to get as deep into the woods as you could. You were not an offensive character and so you had to do everything you could to be alone. Even if that meant going days without eating in fear of getting caught below the trees.  It was a musty day, the whole night before in a heavy rain. You, being in the trees got soaked and had a hard time getting comfortable or even sleeping. But you tried not to let yourself feel any of those emotions and cling tight to the tree so that way you could at least have a chance at sur-

There was another loud shriek that erupted from the trees. You looked around becoming curious as it was louder and closer to you than the others, and it caused you to be on edge. You stood up and you held onto a branch that hung just above you and you used it to let yourself lean forward without the fear of falling; and you watched as a girl came running beneath you. She held her arm tightly against herself as it bled. From your position you could see that she looked absolutely disgusting. Blood dripped from her head and arms. Her clothes were all ripped but you knew she was holding strong on her own if she was able to run as far as she had. You watched in terror as the girl screamed as loud as she could once more before she collapsed under the tree. Your hands covered your ears and she held back your own tears. This was a pain you were not used to, the fear of death and the fear of getting caught above this fresh body were the two thoughts that tore into you. But for now you couldn't do anything but keep yourself pressed tight against the tree. You looked around, making sure that nobody was coming and you were sure it was clear to jump down and run to safety. That was, until you dropped down and you noticed that far off in some bushes someone had been watching. You slowly backed up and sucked in a breath as a laugh erupted from the bushes and a small boy came out and lunged towards you. You yelped and began to run as fast as you could trying to create distance.

Swear poured down your face as the sun beat down on you. You had to be smart, be fast. You gulped down air as you ran as fast as you could. You were lucky to dodge trees and roots that could easily trip you as you were afraid that you would end up losing the game just because of that little mistake. You held your ground and you kept going. You knew that with every step you took, the person chasing you could end up being faster and because of that, you couldn't take any chances. You held back your tears, you felt lost and desperate. But you knew you couldn't even stop for air, you could hear the door steps behind you. You could practically feel his breath against your neck. You whimpered out as you realized you weren't going to get away and you decided to risk it and take a sharp turn around a tree and deeper into the woods. You knew that temporarily got the boy off of your heels just long enough for you to jump into the trees and climb up to safety once again. You sat on a branch, panting, holding a hand against your mouth to keep quiet while you began to hyperventilate. You were scared. You knew this was an inevitable part of the game, and you knew that eventually you couldn't just keep running and you had to fight back.

Five days later. You began to notice how activity became more and more frequent. There were more people around before, you noticed how people had divided themselves into groups, some worked together, some worked just because of a common enemy. You were curious, but you knew that it would be safer to stay away from all of it and not get consumed in all of the team drama. You watched from the trees, but you realized that even the trees were not safe anymore; you were not the only one who knew how to clime. Therefore, you had spotted people in trees, looking up to the tress. You knew your cover would be blown and it was time to go off and find resources and defend yourself. So, three days ago, you had began your ground journey and had so far looted enough bodies to get yourself a few resources. Your back pack had become heavy, but you knew the extra weight was all apart of survival.
