I am so sorry for the long wait. It seems like forever since I've had time to just sit down and write something. In fact this chapter itself has been written two or three times over again because of how much time it has been. Because of that I wanted to write something extra long... As sort of a little treat so please, enjoy!

You lifted your head as much as you could without rattling the chains they placed on you. You tried your best to breathe softly, but as much as you could even though the air around you felt thick and your lungs just could not take in the amount you needed. You tried hard not to just start gasping or panicking. There was a stabbing pain against your side but you couldn't do anything about that besides let out deeper breaths. Papa.... Is coming.... He will come... He has to come. You had to keep reminding yourself. But soon, you knew your hope would be slowly leaving you.
You blinked slowly trying to see the room, but it was dark. Everything was dark. There was nothing for you to see. But you tried not to get scared.. papa says scaredy cats die. I don't want to die.... I... Don't want to die.. You bit your lip and finally you decided to speak out. "H....hello? Is anyone there?" Your voice sounded scratchy
"Ah, you're awake again. You kept blacking out" you noted that the voice sounded familiar like the voice you heard the last time you were awake. "I guess you're wondering who I am" there was a small laugh coming from the voice. "My name is Darla." The lights turned on as she said that, which caused you to squint your eyes for a few moments."I am here to give you a few heads up before your next event." There was a slight pause before she continued. "I know you're probably wondering what the next event it. It's a simple task really, it's a situation to see if you are worth anyone's time. And for that, we are having a battle royal style ceremony. You, and seven others children will be competing in a fight to the death, only one may survive. However, you are the smallest child. And therefore nobody is banking on your survival. We doubt you will even see it through the first day. With that being said we are going to give you an opportunity to train a little while. Build up some muscle mass. But be warned, the other children have already started"
You laid there with a blank expression for the whole talk, but then you slowly lifted your head. "So.... So I am going to die?"
The woman only laughed and she shakes her head. "If you believe you will die then you will. So if I were you I would keep up some high hopes if you want even the chance to make it to the next day" the woman put a finger on your forehead, you felt her nail dig into it. As her nail dragged across your forehead, "there may not be many out there who are rooting for you, in face, most believe you won't even make it past the first five minutes. But, there's a little someone here whom I work with that put a little faith in you. So I would suggest you show some effort. You understand?" Her words pierced into your chest and you could barely take it. All you could do was mutter out some small pity whine to agree with her. This made the woman laugh and she slowly began to unchain you. "Good because it seems that we have a lot to get through today. You, child, must train."
She finished tugging off the last of the restraints and stood there with her arms crossed. You knew she was waiting for you to sit up but you instinctively began to rub your wrists which had began to tingle as the blood was able to freely move through them.
"You'll start to get used to the chains, eventually you won't even be able to feel them at all..now let's hurry up. If you're going to even have a shot at winning anything you're going to have to eat, and knowing the other kids I doubt they're going to save anything for a newbie like you. You're the talk of the Town (y/n) a new contender in the game. They're going to chew you out." The woman started to laugh and you could feel the amusement in her tone, it made you feel sick. You couldn't explain this feeling, all you wanted to do was run. But for now all you could do was sit up and obey as she directed you out of the room.
