(so before the story continues, i would like to say the following 2 parts will be sorta related to the last one. I thought it'd be cool to do a little trilogy thing, and since ppl have been asking for it. If you're reading it in order, the last story would've been when tommy was 15, this one at 16 and the next one at 18.But it's completely fine if you think of it was separate stories or a combined one, enjoy!)

A masquerade ball hm? Tommy would be the star of the show then, he did live his whole life with a mask on. This masquerade ball would involve all the different nations across the world, to celebrate tommy's 16th birthday, becoming 16 was a big deal in the royal family, it was when you were considered an adult and be trusted with royal work. Tommy didn't really care for his 16th birthday, it was just another year of getting mistreated.
The following people were invited : The BadLands (bad and skeppy) Las Navada (Quackity and Sam) Rainbow Land (Ranboo, Eret, Niki) Lmanberg (Tubbo and fundy) (independent city-state created and led by Wilbur Soot) Nobles from the antarctic empire Everyone else from the empire that has to pay a $500 dollar fee to get in, only limited to 50 ppl
Did he know any of these people on a personal level? Not really, he was friends with ranboo and tubbo but that was really it. 2 weeks later would be the day he would be revealed to the empire. One of the reasons why the 16th birthday of a royal family member is so important is that before their 16th birthday the public don't know them. Because of security reasons, until a royal family member is 16 they aren't revealed to the general public, kinda stupid, i know.
There was also the important decision I suppose. When a member of the royal family turns 16, they have to decide wether or not they want to work in the military or go into politics. It was unbeneficial for tommy, because wilbur had already set his ground in politics and techno in military. Of course he also had to establish relationships with nobles and citizens if he wanted to be king. He was already 6 years late to the scene, he knew that wilbur already had a hide standing behind him. One thing that might be in his favour of becoming king though, is that Techno didn't have the ambition to become king and that Wilbur already had a city-state he was leading. Even if Phil had said before that he couldn't be king, you never know , tommy might just override his majesties command...
Tommy had actually made a friend who was his now royal knight, his name was Clay but he went by dream. Due to spending about a year or so constantly staying by tommy's side, needless to say he knew things about tommy that others didn't. They were now in his highness's room, trying to find a good outfit for the both of them, because somehow tommy had convinced dream to go to the ball with him.

As the pair walked toward the ballroom, they could already hear the commotion inside, royaly late he supposed. The guard recognised prince tommy and royal knight dream almost immediately and opened the door declaring " His highness Prince Tomathy and his royal knight sir Dream." The room was in silence all heads turned towards the door. What came in, were 2 dominating presences, girls already fawning over the prince and his knight, talking about how hot they looked. The duo took step by step with elegance and confidence, and soon the ballroom was back to small chatter.
During the night before, Tommy had discussed with dream how he would have to establish good relationships with nobles and that me would finally have to drop his mask. They also discussed wether going in the military was better than going into politics and vice versa. Now Tommy was going towards his two friends, tubbo and ranboo when someone stepped in his way, tommy almost tsch'ed in annoyance but quickly held back. "Nice to meet you prince tomathy." "You must be lord George, it's nice to meet you as well." "I've seen great things from your brothers prince tomathy, and i'm sure you'll be nothing short of them." Tommy chuckled both in humour and annoyance, "Well then lord George get ready for a wild rollercoaster because I won't be like my brothers, excuse me." and left continuing to try and find his friends.
Finally he found his friends, after talking to many many nobles that was in his way. He saw them holding what seemed to be glasses of coke, his favourite. He walked over to them with dream by his side. Tubbo being his always cheerfully self said "Hey tommy! how are you doing, you're finally 16 huh?" while ranboo said "Congrats man!" as tommy was about to reply, he heard wilburs voice booming through the room, "Now our very own prince tomathy will be giving a speech." Sighing, tommy made his way up the staircase, with dream behind him why did people live to interrupt him so fucking much.
Still, he grabbed the mic from wilbur, smiled a very very fake smile and started speaking "First I thank you al for coming to my 16th birthday masquerade, I hope all of you are having a fantastic time. I would like to say that I look forward to serving all of you. Finally. my decision on whether I will be going to into the military or politics... I will be serving in the military. Well... tommy going into the military huh? that was unexpected.
(Sorry if the story seems a bit messy, I didn't rly have a solid vision for this chapter.)
