The story of Theseus or not...

Technoblade had always called tommy theseus, many people didn't get the reference and just regarded it as a weird nickname. But tommy definitely knew what techno was telling him, ever since he was a little boy, techno would always tell him greek myths as bed time stories, and one of the ones that were his favourites was the story of theseus, at the time techno would tease tommy by calling him theseus but now the nickname held nothing but bitterness and venom to tommy.

Theseus was a child of Poseidon, but he had never been tommy's favourite god, his favourite god had always been Hades, the underworld just seemed so....warm to tommy and all the lava there.The first time techno had called tommy theseus, tommy was elastic, that he was like the great greek hero looking up to his older brother technoblade. But at the age of 10, philza's left with techno leaving him alone with a barely 16 year old wilbur. And the nickname theseus only reminded him of being abandoned by his family.

The next time he saw techno, was in poggopia to win L'manberg back, he thought he could have wilder brother techno back but technoblade had changed over the years, he didn't care about tommy anymore, all he cared about was destroying the government. Still tommy did what he thought was best for his nation, he followed his two brothers to war.

Once everything settled, both techno and wilbur blew everything up, betraying tommy. At that moment he should've known that his story would never be a happy one. This time when techno called tommy theseus, it was to warn him, it was to tell him that he was the greek hero theseus and he would not have a good fate.

Tommy wasn't going to be theseus, he was determined to prove his brother wrong, so he dragged new member Ranboo to do some anarchy on george's house, how was he supposed to be the hero when he was right there committing crime? Well turns out that backfired on him, because like nothing, tubbo easily exiled tommy, just like how despite everything theseus had done for his people, they exiled him.

Almost everyday of exile, when dream wasn't around him manipulating him, he thought about what techno, tubbo, dream had said. Probably about two weeks into exile, tommy had a sudden thought, 'fuck i really am theseus aren't I?' God dammit technoblade had to drill every greek story into his brain. That's where is all went downhill, tommy was aware that dream was manipulating him, but honestly he had ran out of strength to fight him.

One day tommy had another random thought, 'Maybe dream can be my Lycomedes." Lycomedes was the person who pushed theseus off a cliff to his demise. Dying off of a cliff didn't sound so bad, tommy thought but he wanted to add his own special element to it, like a iconic death if you will. Wilbur's death was pretty pog, getting his own dad to kill him,
but that couldn't happen with tommy, he had to find an iconic death that would still fit into the theme of theseus.

Lava, he had always like it, seemed like a good way to die innit? Ghostbur and the others were at the smp taking a photo of the christmas tree so no one would even notice. Dream stayed behind, leaning on the portal looking at his with taht stupid emotionless mask once again. He looked at the lava, if dream wasn't going to do it maybe he'd just jump off himself. He was still trying to figure out a perfect lava death when a hand gripped his shoulders.

"It not your time to die yet tommy." dream siad from behind him. Tommy sighed deeply, well there goes his plans, "it's never my time to die.." he mumbled and walked back to the portal of Logstedshere with a slouched posture. Never being able to see how behind him, Dream had his mask off, smirking with eyes of amusement.

Dream never particularly cared about greek myths, but he definitely knew of them, mostly due to his brother foolish being a totem of death, Puffy used to always tell the two brothers about greek myths perhaps to make the announcement of foolish being a totem less weird? Either way, dream knew about greek myths. He had heard of techno always referring tommy as theseus but personally he thought of tommy as Ariadne.

Ariadne was a princess in greek myths, she and a kind heart but was betrayed by the one and only Theseus, but later got saved by Dionysus and became his wife. Tommy is a little prince that kind heart, always wanting to save everyone but will get betrayed, multiple times, dream just has to make sure tommy doesn't find his Dionysus, he was concerned about tubbo originally but seeing how fast he could sacrifice his best friend for a broken nation was truly a sight to his eyes.

Tommy was Theseus according to technoblade but according to dream, he was Ariadne and dream will do anything to prevent tommy from finding his Dionysus.

(read a fanfic on Ao3, which i don't remember the name of but they mentioned smt abt tommy being ariadne and i just found taht super interesting)
