Chapter 14

The Death note was much more powerful than I had ever imagined.

I slouched against the wall, squeezing the pillow I had in between my hands.

"Oh, my damn lords." I wheezed in sheer excitement, not believing my plan and theory had worked.

One of the core rules of writing the cause of death had stated: The conditions of death will not be realized unless they are physically possible for that human or could be reasonably assumed to be carried out by that human.

By agreeing with everything I told them to do, it was physically possible. In addition, the power of the Death Note only established that they must follow my orders. Which meant that even if I ordered them to do something impossible, they would still have to agree and attempt it.

Basically, the Death Note granted you the power to manipulate the actions of a person until their death. With my order of 'you must follow everything I say,' it gave me an eternal loop of control on that person.

I had found a loophole.

I legit just prolonged the use of the Death Note's powers.

My mouth dropped at the thought.

With this...I could use the Death Note.

They could write the name for me instead of me attempting to use it with my problems.

It was extremely tiring compared to just simply writing by my own hand, but at least I had a way to use the Death Note without them leaking whatever information I wanted to keep as a secret.

As long as I could give the correct orders, it wouldn't even matter if they were tortured. They could not expose any of my orders.

I shuddered in anticipation by the thought. They were like my own personal minions.

My own, emotionless machines.

Here was the only problem: If I wanted to kill someone personally, I'd have to bring one of my writers to meet the person. And that would be hella suspico-

Wait. Couldn't I just order them to make the Shinigami deal?! Or was that deal only limited to the owner of the Death Note?

Wikipedia, where are you when I need you?!

I thrashed my arms in the air before throwing the pillow. In slow motion, I observed the pillow flipping and spinning vertically with the corners serving as balancing weight to keep the rotation going.

No matter. Once I ask Ryuk I'll have my answer. Though, it's going to take some time before I can grasp Light's trust.

But then again...if I could potentially control all the actions of people before their natural death, doesn't that mean I could also prevent them from doing a certain action?

All three of my friends basically had to execute the actions I told them to, however, their behaviour remained as usual. Did their consciousness change? Were they able to realize what they were doing? I hadn't written about controlling their thoughts so it was possible if their consciousness remained awake.

But then again, even if they were able to see their body movements and their consciousness had a mind of their own, they still wouldn't be able to go against my orders. It was a theory that I had to test later. But obviously, in order to test that theory, I would need to attack them with enough emotional trauma that they would have an actual reaction that breaks the control of the death note.

In addition, what was the limit that the Death Note had in controlling them? Would it even be possible to break the control of the Death Note if one's mind was enough?
