CAS AND LADY LOKI HEADED OUT OF the castle rather quickly, down the steps, and into the market, the morning sun shining as they hurried into the rows of stalls, mixing with the crowd that was taking a walk through the market. The sun was warm, shining on the two as they stopped at a few stalls.
The sun was shining down, casting golden light into the square, but with the sunlight there was also heat, radiating onto Cas's dark clothes, she reached for Lady Loki's hand to not lose her in the crowd. It was a whirlwind, but the market was so pretty.
Packed tightly with Asgardians who wished to shop. Stalls full of pretty items, food, or even small animals. Shops outlined the stalls, a library, and a bakery that smelled absolutely amazing.
Cas found herself in awe, more in awe than she had been in a while. She wished she visited more, in thinking this, she realized that she hadn't spent a lot of time here, the occasional run for Frigga was the extent of her travels to this part of Asgard.
They continued their travels down into a bakery, buying some food, before heading back outside, the temperature rising in the Asgard heat. It was spring fading into summer, so the heat was still attacking.
That also meant that Cas's father was less tame now, as Asgard's seasons reflected that of Midgard. He was always tamer in the cooler months of the year. It made sense, but Cas despised his attitude in the summer and spring.
Cas looked over at Lady Loki, eating her bread in silence, as they continued down the cobblestone path, through the people, and into a library at the other end of the market. Cas sighed as she slipped inside, making a beeline to the maps, digging through as she heard Lady Loki sigh, not caring if she was gone or not.

CAS DIDN'T KNOW WHOW MUCH TIME had passed, but her stomach growled, and she stepped outside to find Lady Loki. There she was, seated next door, a whole bunch of children surrounding her.
"seðir is no party trick," Loki once told her. Cas laughed, leaning against the wall as she watched Lady Loki, using her seðir as a party trick, but she didn't say a word. Cas stood, and walked over to the group, taking a seat next to Lady Loki.
"Having fun?" Lady Loki asked quietly as she produced a small wooden animal out of the mist. Cas chuckled, watching as she handed it to a little girl.
"Here," a little blonde Asgardian girl with striking blue eyes handed Lady Loki a flower. "It's for your hair, miss." Cas took it from the girl and tucked it into the raven locks as Lady Loki chuckled, thanking the girl. Cas didn't miss how Lady Loki flushed pink
Lady Loki looked at Cas and smiled softly, watching the woman intently as she continued her magic tricks. It was beautiful, Cas always thought Lady Loki's magic was. She was enthralled by her constantly, no matter what.
Cas had never thought about being attracted to Loki (or Lady Loki) before. They had been only friends, but Cas also knew that even if it was for only a few weeks, losing her was the worst thing that she had felt in a while. Maybe there was something more. Maybe that kiss was the start of that more.
And maybe, Cas wasn't opposed to it.
As the sky became golden and the children became tired, Cas and Lady Loki were on their own. The sunset was beautiful; as all Asgardian sunsets were. The air was warm and the sun was helping it cool. Cas and Lady Loki ordered food for them and they sat out in the grass before a lake, watching the sunset and the stars appear, constellations that Cas knew so well and had written in her mind like ink, permanently settled in her mind.
Stars used to be her life. They still were, but she hadn't made any for a while. The old pastimes. Her life, she realized, was Loki. When it used to revolve around creating vast galaxies, visiting planets, she realized that maybe it was revolving around Loki now. Lady Loki or just Loki, she didn't care. She found herself happier than she'd ever been when she was around Loki.
"Should we start going up to the castle?" Lady Loki asked, bringing Cas from her thoughts. It was fully dark out now and the market lights reflected on the water in front of them. It was beautiful, and Cas could stay for days. She also was exhausted and wanted to sleep in her own bed, so she agreed.
"Yes," Cas said, standing and holding out a hand for Lady Loki to take, helping her stand as Lady Loki teleported them back to the palace.
"Thank you," Cas told her as they stood inside of her room, she watched as Lady Loki shifted into her male form again, and Cas's form changed as well.
"Of course," He said. He pressed a kiss to her hand and turned. Cas wanted to call after him. To tell him to stay. To talk about the kiss, to talk about everything. She wanted to explain herself, to say something, to say anything, but she couldn't. She didn't.
She brushed her lips with her fingertips, ready to spend a night thinking, nothing productive. She watched him go, closing the door behind her.
It gave her a feeling in the pit of her stomach. One that she couldn't shake or understand if it was positive or negative, a feeling that made her feel horrible and made her buzz with excitement at the same time.
