BLUE TULLE HUNG AT HER SIDES, a corset tight around her chest. it should've made her feel beautiful. It didn't. She could stand in from of the mirror for hours, trying to convince herself she looked good, but she didn't.

She untied her corset, tossing it across the room, stepping out of the blue tool, she dug through her closet, to be met with emerald satin. She smiled, tugging the dress on, a flowy skirt, a tight waist, puffy sleeves that cuffed at her wrists.

It wasn't what her maids insisted she would look amazing in, it was something she actually looked amazing in. She felt good too.

Slipping into a pair of gold shoes, she slid from her room and into the ballroom, quiet so all of the eyes wouldn't be on her. Sure, she felt pretty, but there was no reason to be mentally undressed by every man in Asgard. She caught Loki's eye, where he was standing with Thor, and headed towards them.

"hey," Cas said, earning a grin from Thor.

"Lady Cas!" He cheered. Cas smiled.

"Thor," She said, looking at Loki, who didn't look at her. She furrowed her eyebrows but decided to not dwell on it.

A maid carrying champagne walked towards them, bowing as he passed the two princes. Cas took a glass and sipped it, leaning against the table. Loki seemed very interested in his tie, and Thor was off making conversation with the next woman he probably would bed. Cas rolled her eyes, turning to Loki.

"Are you not enjoying yourself?" Cas asked, trying her best to have a good time, but Loki seemed to have other plans. He only looked at her when she walked in, so he obviously didn't think she looked good. She thought that he of all people would like the dress, as it seemed to be his color. She puffed out a breath in annoyance, as Loki didn't respond, and wandered off, not catching how his eyes followed her leave.

Cas didn't have any other friends in the palace. Sure, she was friendly with a few of the maids and other members of Frigga's court and people in the classes she took, but there wasn't anyone she could go to and speak to. She would only stay angry at Loki for a few moments before she would give in and let her exterior fall. She was headed back to where Loki stood before Thor stepped before her and smiled, holding out a hand.

"Would you like to dance, Lady Cas?" Thor asked, earning a smile from Cas. She set her now empty champagne glass down and followed him.

"Of course," She smirked. she caught Loki's eye which flashed with something Cas didn't recognize as she took Thor's hand in her own, resting the other on his shoulder as his fell to her hip. She smiled, making small bits of conversation with Thor as they swayed to the music.
