Beomgyu's eyes fluttered open, he stretched his limbs before rolling on his side, the space cold and empty.
He sat up real quick, looking here and there and everywhere, but he couldn't find any trace of the scarlet-haired.
"Taehyun-ah?" He tried calling in the direction of the bathroom, standing up when he didn't receive a reply. "Taehyun-ah, where are you?" He checked the balcony before returning to the room.
Anxiety took over him, fearing that Taehyun had all so suddenly left him. His eyes started to prickle with tears until he noticed a post-it note on his side table. Almost immediately tripping himself, he grabbed it.
"I had to head back to Seoul urgently. I'm sorry I couldn't wait till the day broke out. Hyuka's with me, so don't worry. I'll meet you later at your apartment. — Taehyun."
Beomgyu exhaled, holding the post-it closer to his chest. The little moment of panic had dispersed, making him realize that it'd be unbearable for him if Taehyun were to ever leave him alone one day. And there was no way he could let that happen.
In order to conquer the younger's heart, he had to come up with a plan as soon as possible.

Taehyun laid out the guitar to the shopkeeper, who scrutinized it up and down. The man took it and played the chords, satisfaction visible in his smile. He reached into the drawer and handed over some cash.
"Only this much??? You seemed quite pleased with the guitar!!" Hueningkai shrieked at the amount Taehyun received, the shorter shushing him.
"Thank you, ahjussi." He bowed before dragging the younger outside.
"But Taehyun, when you bought the guitar it was so expensive! How come he's not even paying you back half of it???"
"It's okay, Hyuka. This should be enough for now. Besides, there's only a few days left with Beomgyu hyung. After that I've to find work anyway." Taehyun shrugged as he finished counting the money, ready to send it to his family.
"The things you do for him are way more than he deserves." Hueningkai pouted, clicking his tongue when Taehyun glared at him.
Once he was sure that the money was transacted to his mother's account, he bid Hueningkai, who was tired after their early-morning journey from Daegu to Seoul, farewell and wandered around the streets.
He had no classes that day, he had no work.
The only one he had in hands was singing in the bar but even that was after midnight. And the way his boss was furious at his sudden 3-day leave, he doubted if that would last long.
Taehyun sighed, looking at the sky. He missed Beomgyu. It was only a few hours since he last saw the older but he was already feeling the absence of him this bad. Day by day, it was getting harder for him to stay away from the older.
The thought that Beomgyu would hate him after knowing everything was starting to fear him, he was scared to lose whatever they had. The only thing he could do to avoid hurting Beomgyu more was by pushing him away.
But he had no idea when the train of his thoughts dropped him right before the older's apartment door, nor did he realize when he'd pressed the doorbell.
Taehyun chuckled at his foolishness. "What am I even doing here? He mustn't be back yet—"
The door opened, revealing a hasty Beomgyu with his long hair messy all over.
