"Hi. I'm Taehyun, a freshman from the chemistry department. I'm kinda nervous right now, considering you're too well known hehe. But I might stammer even more if I were to tell you this face-to-face. The thing is...Choi Beomgyu, I like you. It's a very common phrase to you, I know. However I'm not confessing on a whim, in fact I've tried to not think about you much which only made me realize just how much I adore you. I don't know when it started though. Maybe it was when you liked my low budget self-made perfumes so much, maybe it was whenever I saw you smiling so wholeheartedly even at the slightest joke, maybe when I noticed you on the stage while collecting my ID. Or perhaps, it was during our first encounter when you took care of that little cat family and your kindness was what captured my heart. I don't expect an immediate answer from you, instead I want to take my time to get to know you better. It's okay if you have someone else in mind right now too. I can wait. Just know that I'll be there for you whenever you want me."

Beomgyu blinked his tears away.

Back at that time he was too obsessed with himself and how the world saw him. That was the time when he received at least four confessions a day but barely remembered any of them. He has little to no memory of Taehyun and him together. The only thing he could remember in his recollections was that one small conversation in the library, even then he actually hadn't seen Taehyun's face. And that event when he'd bought and loved the scents so much that he was ready to kiss the perfumer's hands but never got to meet him. And that time when he'd helped the cats together with an unknown freshman.

It was Taehyun. It was always his beautiful and endearing Taehyun.

With or without his realization, Taehyun was always the one who was ready to catch him when he fell, to mend his broken heart, to love even the ugliest side of him.

Beomgyu let out a breath he was holding back, looking up at the sky. It wasn't too late yet. There was still something left to hold on to.

Shoving the envelope along with the letter inside his jacket while fishing out his phone, he pressed the call button beside the name that was still on top of his contacts' favorite list. There was a ring or two but no one picked up, so he tried a few more times but all in vain. He'd left the bar, pacing quicker while still trying the phone, worrying himself more.

He had to find Taehyun no matter what.

Likewise, he'd kept his arrogance aside for Taehyun multiple times, and he was willing to do it a thousand more times.

"Taehyun has quit working here?"

The female counselor nodded. He'd walked himself all the way to that one particular children's hospital.

"The day he brought you over, it was his last day. He'd been working here for months but then he suddenly had to quit." The counselor smiled apologetically, seeing his expression fall.

With no clue to lead him ahead, Beomgyu's only hope were the places he'd been with Taehyun.

"Taehyun? No, he was here last time with you." Said the food-cart ahjusshi.

"But you've also been coming here for the past three months! If Taehyun dropped by, you would've noticed him. Why would I lie to you?" Retorted the fish-cake seller ahjumma.

That's how his next stop ended up being the café near the university campus.

Through the glass walls, he could see a familiar figure in a white shirt and a barista apron, cleaning the last of the mess left behind by the customers.

"I'm sorry we're closed for the day—oh it's you again?" The girl from earlier in the morning, who had introduced herself as the owner's daughter, seemed to recognize him too.
