Taehyun's eyes fluttered open because of the sunlight prickling through the white translucent curtains.

He stretched a little, wincing because of the way his body hurt. Suddenly a wild memory of last night crossed his mind, and truth be told, he was dumbfounded for a few seconds.

Sitting up in a jiffy, he only now realized there was another figure beside him. The late-morning sunlight bathed Beomgyu's smooth back with its beautiful rays, making him appear even more magnificent than he already is.

Taehyun's heart did a flip at the sight, it was the same man who kept all his requests last night.

But he didn't allow himself to ogle more, reminding himself a few times that he was an escort who was paid for doing this and that he was still Choi Beomgyu, the ass he knew. His heart was upset with the thought but Taehyun has always been a man of his head.

Cautiously, he put his feet on the floor before leaving the bed and in an instant, he picked up the essentials of his clothes to put them on and find his phone somewhere before quickly leaving the room.

"Thank God he didn't see me." Taehyun heaved a sigh of relief, leaning against the corridor wall. He shook his head and straightened his clothes with his palms, trying to look even half decent.

It was very wrong of him to not at least wait for the older to wake up but that's what he was doing all these for; to do something wrong in secret and then forget about it.

When he got into the elevator, he internally prayed he wouldn't have to bump into any known faces. Thankfully enough, he didn't. It could be because the party was going on for the whole night, and people were more than tired. However, it only favored him. As he took longer strides, he reached the parking lot sooner than he expected but when he searched for his keys inside his pockets, they were empty.

"Did I just forget my keys?" Taehyun groaned. For a second, he contemplated taking public transport but he hadn't brought his wallet with him as he hadn't expected this situation to arise.

"Hyuka! I'll call him!" He took out the caller list and dialled the younger's number, only to be left with beeps from the other side. "Damn! Why isn't he picking up!!?

Taehyun sighed, looking back at the hotel. He had to go all the way up to get his keys back but that was the least of his concerns, given that he again had to be careful of not facing Beomgyu. Feeling awkward was the last thing he wanted to experience with Beomgyu.

With no other option left, he carried himself back to the hotel floor he was in, still trying to reach Kai through calls in vain. He was lucky no one saw him this time as well, and when he noticed the room of the door open, he doubted if he'd left just like that. But whatever, he slowly pushed the door and saw the keys on a nearby table.

As soon as he found it, smiling in relief, he reached a hand. That's when the familiar voice hit him.

"What are you saying, hyung?? I planned everything so meticulously to have you guys meet, and you're saying you two spent the night together but you didn't....? Ugh, this is so frustrating!!"

Taehyun took small steps towards the bedroom, from where the voice was audible.

"I mean we even lied to Taehyun saying that you're an escort, so you could be his fake boyfriend and get close to him. You shouldn't have let him leave without talking!!!"

Beomgyu stood up from his bed, he was now fully awake and dressed. He was about to say something to the wavy-haired cousin of his when his eyes accidentally fell on Taehyun peeking through the door gap with wide confused eyes.

"Taehyun-ah..." He mumbled, and Kai turned around with a mortified expression.

"You...lied to me?" Taehyun repeated whatever he heard, his mind whirling with different thoughts. "...to get close to me?"

"Hyun, wait! Listen to me please." Hueningkai stepped forward, panicking. "It's not what you think. We—I can explain."

"I...trusted you, Kai... But you guys were busy making a fool of me?"

"At least—"

"Shut up." Taehyun stumbled backwards but before he tripped, two strong arms supported him back.

"Taehyun-ah, I'm really sorry for lying to you." The younger cluelessly looked at the raven-blonde male, his heart pounding harder. "I didn't want you to find it out this way but I think there's no point in hiding it anymore. I genuinely—"

Beomgyu was cut off with a rock fist jab against his jaw, shoving him away from the younger.

"Hyung!?!!!?!!" Hueningkai was quick to help Beomgyu before turning to Taehyun with a glare. "Taehyun, are you out of your mind!?"

"It's okay, Kai. I'm okay." The older assured him as his eyes went wider seeing the blood on his hand.

Taehyun stomped towards Beomgyu to stab a finger against his chest, his tone harsh and cold as he spoke, "I knew you can never not be a loser but this time you've crossed all your limits. Do not show me that face of yours ever again!"

And then he turned his back on the two, walking to get his keys and then striding out of the room, very soon the hotel too, ignoring all the calls from whom he considered his best friend.

He got into his car, and starting the engine almost immediately, he didn't waste a single second more. It was getting suffocating to stay there.

Tears rolled down his eyes as his heart felt like it was shattering into pieces. Just last night he was rejected by Soobin but it didn't hurt this much. And he couldn't understand the reason even, no, he shouldn't be feeling this way for someone like Beomgyu.

Beomgyu, who has been annoying, has played numerous pranks on him, always talks back, and everything you can name while describing a polar opposite of him. He shouldn't feel that way just because he was the first person to spend the night with him.

"Damn!" Taehyun stopped his car in front of a bridge, and got off. He couldn't drive with so much going inside his mind.

"For all this time....I thought he was doing it for money, because it was his work..."

"We even lied to Taehyun saying that you're an escort, so you could be his fake boyfriend and get close to him." Hueningkai's words played on repeat inside his head.

He punched the railing of the bridge with his fists, his knuckles turning white. A few passersby threw concerning glances at him but fuck it!! It was his best friend who played this dirty game to help his cousin make a fool out of him. After all, blood is thicker than water.

"I hate you, Choi Beomgyu!" Taehyun screamed into the open air, sobbing. "I hate you so much."
