You're invited to the wedding celebratory party of Choi Soobin and his longtime beau Choi Yeonjun. We're looking forward to your presence eagerly.

Taehyun poked his tongue against his inner cheek, scoffing as he read the words on the card.

Inheriting his family-run business, Kang Taehyun had become the newly appointed CEO of K Perfumes in SK. Do not think it was all given to him just like that. He was born with a silver-spoon in his mouth, sure, but that's the main reason he thrived to come this far. So he could prove himself worthy of the privileges he's received. After all, having a competitive younger sibling who's equally qualified for the position did push him to give the best of his best.

And so, he's always indulged himself in studies to maintain straight A's in all his yearly reports, along with participating in sports and even joining the students' council for extra points.

Students' council, yes! That's where it all started.

Taehyun, the model student of his own year and the class president, had never thought of having a love life until he was done with the half of his first year of high school. Thanks to his dad's order, he had applied when the students' council was recruiting new members and thanks to his good grades and disciplined behavior, he even got chosen to be the new president's secretary. He was mad for not being able to get the main position but all of it ended as he was led to a fine afternoon when he first met Choi Soobin, his ideal type.

The boy was oddly timid, walking behind their current student council president of that time as the two entered the meeting room. He was beautifully fair and his skin looked soft like a bread dough, he had long legs and broad shoulders, making him effortlessly noticeable. In contrast to Taehyun, he had a squishy boopable nose. He was walking upright, yet Taehyun could sense the waves of embarrassment as the whole room focused on him.

"So, it's time for that time of the year when the current student council has to choose a new team for the school." The president Kim Namjoon told them with a sad but proud smile. "Witnessing Choi Soobin of 2-A work with so much diligence for the past year, we have agreed on making him the next president." The student body present applauded, breaking Taehyun's trance. He hesitantly joined them to clap for their new president. The boy must've been around for some time, given that he was already a part of the council. Which made Taehyun wonder why and how he hadn't come to notice the older before. However, soon he accepted that it was meant to be this way and took in the scene of Soobin introducing himself and promising to do a good job, as his pokey pokey dimples stirred up a new feeling inside Taehyun's chest.

Sigh. Had he been a little lenient with his studies and tried to chase the older more, perhaps it could be his name on the invitation card today.

But it's not like he never told the older, nah! Kang Taehyun wasn't the one to keep it to himself, in fact, he was enough sophisticated to choose and use his words carefully. They even went to the same university later, he was in the chemistry department and Soobin in the psychology. You could say working as the students' council team had helped them grow closer, enough to call it friendship. So sometimes they'd make time for coffee or a quick lunch together. And when Taehyun thought it was the right time, he'd confessed.

Taehyun was confident that they'd work out well. He was smart, good-looking, and rich. Everyone knew he was going to win his father's trust and acquire the company. Truth be told, only a fool would ever turn him down. But he didn't expect Soobin to fall in that category.

The older had listened to him, nodding on the important parts with a blank expression. He then gave off his signature wide smile, and Taehyun's stomach twisted in a familiar way.

"I'm sorry for being so clueless all this time, Taehyun-ah." Soobin said as he offered some water to the younger. "But I've never seen you more than a close friend."

Taken aback, Taehyun hadn't replied. For the first time, he thought of Soobin's kind demeanor as fake but it was only because of the heat of the moment. He kept quiet while Soobin explained how sorry he was for not being able to return his feelings, and that it would be the best if Taehyun took some time off from him and focused on other things more, probably go on blind dates after a few weeks, and eat well. He was explaining some psychological methods and bullshit to get over an unrequited crush, but Taehyun was hardly even listening.

He thought Soobin might just need some time to think properly. After all, dating Taehyun isn't everyone's cup of tea. You'd need to be as logical and mature to go out with a future CEO. So as Soobin said, Taehyun really took some time off. He didn't initially message and call, or go to the psychology department for the first few weeks. But when he thought he'd given the older enough space, he'd tried to reach out. He went and waited for hours in their favorite coffee shops and restaurants, only to later find out that Soobin had left the country through a student exchange program.

Never contacting him after that, and now years later, Soobin had the audacity to invite Taehyun to his wedding?!!???!

Cue the drama :)
