you arrived in front of a grand gate with a stunning entrance. beautiful blue and red roses, along with lush bushes, lined the pathway leading to the castle-like building, making it look enchantingly majestic.

"does clover kingdom have a queen or something? this place looks like queen lolopechka's palace," you wondered aloud, still mesmerized by the structure before you.

"a queen? unfortunately, we don't have one. i wish," a voice chimed in from your side, making you jump.

"oh?" you gasped slightly, turning to face the voice. "is something wrong?" you asked.

"ah, sorry. i came here looking for a doctor and didn't expect to run into a squad captain. my apologies," you bowed your head instinctively.

"so you're the one the wizard king sent," she said with a touch of sarcasm. "i thought whoever he sent would have figured out by now that this is a magic knight squad headquarters. but, oh well." she added, her tone a bit sharp. you found yourself liking it.

"so... i'm guessing i was sent here for no reason at all. i'll get going then. my apologies for bothering you," you muttered, turning to leave.

"hold on," the woman called out. "sir julius actually summoned you here for a favor." you nodded, signaling for her to continue. "i am charlotte roselei, captain of the blue rose. may i ask for your time, lady y/n?"

-

"let's get this straight, the wizard king wants you to come along on a mission with me," she said. you raised a brow in amusement.

'a mission? with me? that kid trusts me already, and i haven't done anything for them yet? unbelievable,' you thought.

"if it's the wizard king's order, then i will gladly accept. i suppose i could explore and possibly find the magic tool i need for my purpose here," you said. she nodded.

you flashed her a small smile, but she only nodded in return. "i suppose it's better since it's a woman he's sent on a mission with me," the captain mumbled.

her suspicions were clear. you still had a long way to go before gaining acknowledgment from these people. but going on missions and proving you had no ill intentions was a better start than words alone.

-

"the place seems eerily quiet, don't you think?" you asked, turning to the equally puzzled woman behind you.

"agreed, but we have to stick to the mission. there's supposed to be a ruin around here somewhere," charlotte replied, scanning the surroundings. you noticed your dragon, fixated on something.

"frost?" you called softly. the dragon turned to you, eyes gleaming with excitement, and pointed her tail towards an opening.

curiosity piqued, you and charlotte followed frost into the cave, where you discovered a set of imposing double doors at the very end. "is that it?" you asked.

"it must be," charlotte murmured, stepping forward. as she pushed the heavy doors open, a loud creak echoed through the cave, sending a chill down your spine.

the both of you walked in, your dragon trailing close behind.

"how come there are no bandits at all?" you wondered aloud.

charlotte shrugged slightly, and you nodded in agreement. the two of you continued investigating the area, ensuring it was safe. just then, a faint smash echoed from outside. your dragon immediately ran over to you and charlotte for protection.
