this chapter commends in the early months after y/n and william met.

y/n lands her dragon on top of a mountain, which is located above the clouds and where all in sight are the boundless hues of the setting skies.

frost lays on the soft grass, scratching her back and flipping over around the greenery.

william hasn't landed yet, and y/n looks up to find his figure, noticing him staring at the sunset as he stands on his broom, unmoving.

"vangeance!" she yells his name and it takes his attention in a split second, "come down!"

the captain finally lands next to her, dropping his broom down and continuing to stare at the setting sun.

she stares at him, bright orange reflecting his eyes.

y/n felt her heartbeat fasten, as a smile forms on william's face while he dozed off to the distance.

"i'm pleased that you've liked it, captain." she releases a small sigh of content, sitting down on the grass then staring up ahead, william following her actions.

a few minutes of silence pass, with the company of the soft blowing wind.

"have you always viewed such sceneries as this, lady y/n?" william breaks the silence first.

"as a matter of fact, i have. me and frost have always been fond of taking long flights as we much enjoyed the feeling of freedom it gives.. then we find ourselves in these sorts of places."

the captain, known for his collected demeanor, had a reputation that echoed through the magic knights. yet, in this quiet moment, the weight of his responsibilities seemed to lift.

"you have a talent for finding the most peaceful places, m’lady." william remarked, his gaze fixed on the sun's slow descent.

"i’ve always believed that nature has a way of soothing the soul," y/n replied with a giggle, a subtle smile playing on her lips. "it's a welcome escape from the chaos of life."

they settled on a grassy knoll, the soft rustling of leaves providing a gentle background melody. the air was infused with the scent of wildflowers, and a calm breeze swept through the meadow.

the moment flowed effortlessly. y/n spoke of their travels, the wonders of the natural world, and the solace found in quiet moments. william, surprisingly open in this setting, shared tales from his early days as a magic knight and the challenges he faced along the way.

the sun continued its descent, painting the sky in a canvas of warm colors. y/n couldn't help but steal glances at william, his profile illuminated by the fading light. there was a vulnerability in his expression, a side of him rarely seen in the hustle of the clover kingdom.

"you know," william began, his gaze fixed on the horizon, "i often find myself seeking moments like these. away from the expectations and the constant battles."

"it's crucial," y/n replied, eyes mirroring the hues of the setting sun. "we all need a reprieve from duties. it keeps us in the hay."

silence settled between them, not an awkward one but a comfortable pause, as if the beauty around them spoke volumes. the horizon now embraced the last remnants of daylight, and the meadow transformed into a dreamscape.

as the first stars emerged, y/n couldn't shake the feeling that this moment held a certain significance, and how she wished it would last longer.

the unspoken connection between them was palpable, yet the weight of unspoken words lingered.
