"and what might the mighty lady here be doing in a place so filthy like this—causing such a scene?" a deep voice from behind muttered. you knew exactly who it was.

lacking the energy both physically and mentally to fight, you didn't have the strength to respond to his taunts.

"come out and kill me already," you mumbled, eyes closed, your arms hugging your knees tightly. "i've had enough being your plaything, game's fucking over, i fucking give up."

"i can do that too..." light footsteps approached your figure. you knew how risky it was to be close to him, yet you remained still. with an empty mind and a numb body, you had no energy left to play his games.

"though that is not particularly the purpose of my presence." you could feel him sitting down beside you, the warmth radiating off him making you long for comfort in this cold place.

still, you remained seated, your body unresponsive to his presence.

the waves splashed calmly, trying to reach your feet, while thunder roared in the background, as if a divine battle was raging. this was how effortlessly the man had found your exact location.

"tell me, princess. i would be very glad if you speak of what is making my confident, sweet little lady succumb in the darkness alone hmm?"

his words were so clear in your head as it repeats, again and again.

"my princess, may i know how this happened?"

A/N; *underlined letters in serif are flashbacks!*

"i am telling you, kill me now before i change my fucking mind and go berserk, zenon," you spat, your voice harsh and ragged.

"is this your way of commiting suicide because a certain useless captain of this garbage kingdom had a girlfriend before you could seduce him?" him using a teasing tone with a sarcastic mark of voice has never sounded so nostalgic to you then right now.

because back then, he used to tease your weak physical appearance while you cry naively in his arms as he enjoys the attention you're giving him.

"i don't need to seduce a man to fall for me—honestly, why do you even care?" you lifted your head, meeting his cold blue eyes under the moonlight. you almost forgot how lifeless they were. "i told you to kill me already. i'm fucking exposed in front of you right now. weren't you the one who taught me not to let moments go to waste, as there would be fewer chances of them occurring again?"

"so you do still remember my advice. and here i thought that bastard had already brainwashed you." his voice was unnervingly comfortable, dredging up painful memories you had tried so hard to forget.

you realized, slowly, that you were succumbing to his words again—falling back into his world of darkness that made you feel endless despair.

"and who are you to call him that? you're a bastard yourself," you murmured, your head dropping back down to rest on your arms.

"i am the only person who knows more about you than you know about yourself. and also, i did not come here to destroy you. hah, maybe in another way of destroying—" your head snapped up, glaring at him. his expression was exactly what you had anticipated: a smug smirk with one eyebrow raised.

oh, how you wanted to punch that off.

you could probably take him down if you wanted to—he was inches away from you, showing no intentional signs of harm. could he really be here to comfort you?

zenon? comforting you? it felt like a delusion at this point. it had only been a couple of months since your last deadly encounter with him, after years of not meeting. yet here you were, acting as if you hadn't nearly killed each other in the past.
