currently arguing with the wizard king, you muttered, "my sincere apologies, but call me ungrateful if you will, but i will not be staying in that household."

the small wizard king responded calmly, "as far as i understand, you mentioned that your dragon cannot endure prolonged exposure to sunny and hot weather. she can manage, but her scales need to feel cool wind periodically to stay healthy, correct?" you nodded in agreement.

"i attempted to find an alternative with a similar temperature, but none compare to vangeance's residence, which is situated on a mountain. thus, it's the most suitable place for your dragon's well-being."

"are you suggesting that i should live with someone i barely know, while entrusting my delicate dragon to him?" you snapped, struggling to maintain your composure.

"yes, that is precisely what i'm suggesting," he said calmly.

you couldn't believe how this man remained so unflinching in the face of your frustration. it was almost like he didn't feel the intensity of your emotions. you never thought you'd wish for someone to be intimidated by you just to keep your feelings in check, especially not someone like him.

you sighed, flipping your hair back in exasperation. "besides, hasn't your dragon already shown trust in him?"

before you could voice more of your frustrations, a knock on the door interrupted your thoughts. "lord julius? may i come in?" a familiar soothing voice asked.

"come in, vangeance," julius replied, giving you a knowing look.

the door creaked open and william entered, his gaze still fixed on the floor as he closed the door behind him. when he looked up, his surprise was evident as he saw you awkwardly standing there, with frost wagging her tail excitedly at his presence.

frost let out a small growl and bounded over to william, who responded with a gentle pat on her head. the sight of your dragon purring under his touch was almost too much for you to handle.

julius, looking pleased, glanced at you as if to say, there you have it.

you shot him a pleading look, thinking, did you see that?! my dragon adores him now!

"ah, apologies if i'm interrupting," william said, still petting frost.

julius then turned to you, "well, it seems your dragon and the manor's owner get along well. what's the issue with staying there, lady y/n?"

frustrated, you sighed deeply. william gave you both a puzzled look. "so, vangeance, you're aware of lady y/n's need for a suitable place, correct?" julius asked, to which william nodded.

"as the owner of that mansion, it happens to be the only place with a suitable temperature for frost," julius explained. "i decided it would be best if y/n stayed there for her safety. if it's not too much trouble, of course."

william nodded thoughtfully and stopped petting frost to address the issue. "actually, sir, i wanted to let you know that i'll be staying at my family's house. now that I am free to make my own decisions, I hope to make the place a better memory."

you stare in shock, although, this revelation piqued your curiosity. what could have happened at his family's house to make it a place he wanted to improve? you wondered about the history behind it.

as you were lost in thought, william continued explaining the situation. "i'm still quite indecisive about it," you admitted.

"mlady, i vow never to cause harm to your dragon or yourself. i'm more than willing to help you find a better place if necessary. until then, feel free to stay at my manor," william offered, his kindness leaving you in awe.
