Story Of My Life

Mingi was stunned to silence as he stared at Seonghwa. The expression that crossed his face was one of confusion, but also slight amusement. He takes in a slow deep breath, bringing his hands up to clasp them together over the table before speaking again, "Hybrid wolves hm?"

Seonghwa nods, "Yes."

"And how exactly does this process work?"

"They are creating hybrid wolves to use for upcoming wars, to help aid them in military and to basically take the hits when it comes to wars instead of losing their military count-"

Mingi slams his fist on the table and stands harshly, his eyes glowing bright red, "Do you think I'm a fucking idiot!?" Minjun cries loudly from the sudden loud noise, Seonghwa immediately shields his son and growls lowly in warning. Mingi snarls, "Stop lying to me, Omega, and tell me the truth!"

"I am speaking the truth!" Seonghwa snarled, "Why would I lie about something like this Mingi?!"

"That's Alpha to you!"

"You are not my alpha!" Seonghwa snaps, Minjun cries louder as he clings to Seonghwa's shirt, the force of his cries stiffens his body and Seonghwa immediately kicks his motherly senses into gear to calm his child.

Mingi was stunned to silence as he watches Seonghwa bring his child up and kissing his soft cheeks, shushing softly while patting his back until the baby has calmed down enough to small whines and occasional whimpers. When he was calm enough, Seonghwa glares at him, "If you're not going to listen to me explaining myself, then why should I let you be my alpha? I know better than anyone here what's going on out in this world, mainly because I come from it, you have no right to call me a liar Mingi."

The alpha sits back down and stares at Seonghwa with his dark, intimidatingly red eyes. He nods once relaxing into his office chair, "Continue."

"I come from a laboratory in a city far from here. A secret laboratory where no other wolves know of and it's run by humans. Scientists, doctors of all kinds, I was born and raised there. I have a brother there..." Seonghwa's heart broke slightly when he mentioned Seoho, but he continued on with his memory, "We were brought up to believe that we were no more than just breeders, breeding 'weapons' for the humans to use in their military. The hybrid wolves are bred to be stronger, smarter, faster, and more flexible to work anywhere. The year I was born was the year when they actually created the gene to inject it into the sperm of Alphas used for Omegas in heat. But my birthday was before they inseminated the gene into Omegas..."

Mingi continues to stare at Seonghwa, taking in the information bit by bit. When Seonghwa waited for confirmation to continue, Mingi nods, "So you were never injected with the gene?"

"No, I don't have the gene in me," Seonghwa swallows harshly as he looks down at his son, "Minjun however..."

Mingi immediately looks to the newborn and his nostrils flare, "Is he going to be a danger to us all?"

Seonghwa felt his wolf bristle at the sudden change of tone from the Alpha, his lip curls slightly as he turns his son away from Mingi, "No. He wasn't born in the laboratory and he isn't going to be raised there for as long as I can help it."

"So those that have the gene born into them are the ones we need to worry about."

"Yes," Seonghwa nods, "Those that are born into the laboratory and raised there are the ones most concerned. They're raised to obey, and to take any orders from officials. If the ones in charge were to have them take you away or to kill you, they would do it on the spot without asking."

"Shit," Mingi hisses, running a hand through his bright red hair, "and what makes you think your son won't?"

"Because I'm with him."

"So? Aren't the wolves that have been born able to have their mothers near?"

Seonghwa's eyes began to water as he looks to his son who was staring up at him with gorgeous purple irises. The thoughts of his son being away from him and becoming one of those monsters in the lab swarmed his mind and he shakes his head to answer the alpha before him, "The babies are taken from the mothers as soon as they're born. The mothers don't even get to hold them."

Mingi was silent as he watched the omega shed silent tears, before leaning down and kissing his child's soft forehead. When he looks back up at Mingi, the Alpha can see the hurt burning through Seonghwa's golden irises, "That is why I escaped. I had just found out I was pregnant, and another wolf in the facility warned me about the procedure and the aftermath. She had been there since she was eighteen, and was pregnant with another pup, ready to deliver. Her oldest child was about to be introduced into the program as well."

"Wait, time out," Mingi shakes his head in confusion, "You mean to tell me, that they have been grooming you with this idea that all you are meant for is to have pups and you don't even get to care for them?"

"No," Seonghwa shakes his head, "Our heats were forced upon us, this pregnancy was forced upon us. And we were made to believe that this was okay."

The look in Mingi's eyes assured Seonghwa that the alpha was slowly believing everything Seonghwa was saying, especially when Seonghwa started to turn Minjun towards the Alpha. He sighs, looking up at Mingi and pondering his words and how he was going to say the next thing to the Alpha, "Minjun has the gene in him, but as long as he is not being raised by them and he's with me, he won't be their weapon."

"How are we to know who has the gene?"

Seonghwa swallows, gesturing to his son's purple irises, "His eyes for one. They are normally purple, a gender and sub-gender neutral color that the scientists came up with. I have never seen a full grown hybrid, so there is no telling what their eye color looks like when their neutral sub-gender is activated. But..." Seonghwa bites his lip, looking down at his son, "My baby was only born three weeks ago and he looks as if he could be two months old. Hybrids tend to grow fast, age slowly and are stronger than any other wolf. So his mental capacity is still a three week old newborn, however over time he will grow mentally and become so incredibly smart. Smarter than any of us here."

Mingi locks eyes onto the newborn, studying him. Seonghwa's gaze locks onto his son as well as he spoke softly, "But deep down, I know he's smart and I know he's the sweetest soul. I believe he wouldn't hurt any of us. Not even if given the command."

Mingi was silent as he leans back in his chair, humming after a brief pause, "I have one condition."

Seonghwa looks up, "Condition?"

"Yes, for you to stay. As much as my head alpha instincts are telling me to make you leave... my inner wolf won't let my mate leave. So... my only condition I have is that you make sure your son isn't a threat. That he won't hurt anyone, unless he was threatened or defending himself."

"He won't," Seonghwa shakes his head, "Not if I can help it. I won't let him hurt anyone Mingi, I swear."

Mingi nods, "Good, I'm glad we're on the same page." He stands, holding a hand out, "So, Seonghwa, would you like to join my pack?"

Seonghwa looks from Mingi's dark brown eyes, to his outstretched hand. He stands, holding his son close to him with one arm while holding out his other hand. Their hands connect, and an instant spark fluttered between their skin and fire burned within their heart. Seonghwa gasps, feeling open to not only the alpha, but to everyone in the whole house. He could feel the heartbeat of the children, every member of the house. He could feel pleasure coursing through his veins from San kissing Wooyoung's neck.

Mingi chuckles, "You'll get used to that feeling, but you should be able to communicate through mind link whenever you want now."

"Mind link?"

"Oh... you probably don't know what that is," Mingi chuckles, "It's fine, we'll be able to show you everything you need to know including shifting into your wolf. Which I'm sure you already know, but you'll be able to know more than you already do."

Seonghwa smiles, looking away from the alpha as he blushes, "I'd like that."
