He did it. He actually did it.
Never in a million years did he think he could escape the facility. Although he wished he would have earlier when he wasn't pregnant... because now the challenge for running is going to be harder.
He knew he couldn't keep running. He needed to take cover somewhere, at least for the night. It was starting to get dark and he was getting really tired. He hasn't stopped running since he escaped, and really it feels as if he's not very far from the facility.
But as he runs, he figured he would cover more ground if he shifted into his wolf form. He has never done so, it was a big rule that was put onto the omegas in the facility, they were not allowed to shift at all into their wolf forms and if they do the consequences were dire...
But he always felt his wolf there. He knew it was there and he knew all he needed to do was focus. He growls as he continues to run, panting harshly for air, "Come on, come on!!" He fights through the bushes and trees as he runs, feeling his body take form of his natural being.
His two legs shifted into 4, his body grew hair all over it, and his face contorted into the muzzle and snout of a canine. This is it, he is now one with his inner wolf.
He came across a break in the forest, a small creek broke apart the two landscapes as it flowed through calmly. He stopped there to take a small drink, catching sight of his wolf for the first time and he froze. He looked like an actual wolf... his coat was a beautiful white with black speckles throughout the muzzle, the tips of his ears were black as well.
His wolf... it was beautiful.
With his wolf, he noticed his other senses were heightened. His sense of hearing, sense of smell, and even sense of sight were heightened. He could hear, see, and smell pretty much everything right now. Including the faint smell of gasoline, and the sound of motor vehicles heading towards him in the far distance.
His ears prick forward and he is once more running. As he ventured further and further in the forest, he could hear the faint sound of horns bleeping, and the faint scent of food. He followed his nose, eventually breaking through the trees to come face to face with a city.
Buildings short and tall, vehicles of many kinds, and many different smells of people plague his nostrils. Everything was overwhelming his senses, and it gave him an instant headache.
But the motor vehicles behind him were gaining up on him quickly.
He pushes his legs faster, running towards the city as quick as he can. He dodges into a dark alley between two brick buildings, stopping right in the middle to think of his next plan. Where will he go now? He can't be a wolf in a city, that'll just bring more unwanted attention to himself and he needed to avoid that as much as possible.
He focuses his mind into shifting back into his human form, feeling as if his whole body was tingling as he formed into his human self. When the tingling stopped, he looks down and notices he doesn't have a single item of clothing on his body.
Great, I can't walk the streets naked either, he thought, grumbling and growling at himself, I need to find some clothes.
He began peeking into visible windows, seeing a metal staircase off to the side of one of the buildings. He looks up, seeing that the staircase goes all the way up to a window close to the top and felt the adrenaline pump through his veins. Sneaking over to it after making sure no one was looking, he climbs quickly to the window, trying to also be quiet to not draw attention to himself.
As he nears the window, he peeks inside to see its just a normal bedroom and it was dark. He sighs in relief, realizing his luck as he notices the window is cracked just a little bit. His eyes widen, and he quickly pries his fingers under the crack and lifts the window up. Once it was opened wide enough for him to slip his body through, he searches through it for some clothes and other necessities.
He opens a closet across from a large bed, coming face to face with many articles of colorful clothing. Nothing bland, and no scrubs. His heart races as he grabs a random shirt and a pair of blue textured pants. He slips them on in a hurry, they were both a little too big, but they would have to do. He continues to dig through the closet and finds a jacket with a hood, something that was also essential to hide the blonde hair on his head.
Once he finds one, he searches for a bag to pack more clothes for himself, at least another shirt and another pair of pants. As for shoes, he found a rough pair of shoes that have a star on the side of them, and doesn't hesitate to slip them on. Luck was even more on his side, he caught sight of a leather billfold, and immediately reaches for it. Inside were many cards and about two hundred in cash, perfect for him to buy a ticket for a bus and maybe get some hair dye. He immediately stuffs the billfold in the pockets of his pants, and finishes ransacking the closet.
Just as he was finishing tying the last shoe on his foot, he hears the faint sound of a door slamming shut resonate throughout the room and freezes. He curses quietly, standing abruptly. He slings the bag over his shoulder and makes his way over to the window, immediately crawling out and down the fire escape. And once more, he began running through the streets to put some distance between himself and the apartment he invaded.
Once he was at a safe distance, he slows his pace to a fast walk. People walk past him, all were either on their phones or had some kind of wireless device in their ears as they walked. He kept his head down low to not draw attention to himself as he came across a small convenience store, and immediately enters to look for hair dye.
When he enters the store, there were a few people staring at him and watching, but eventually they went back to scanning the shelves for items they need. He scans the items as well, looking over everything until he eventually finds what he is looking for. Reaching up, he grabs the darkest hair color he can find, and hurries to the cashier to pay for it quickly.
The cashier boredly checks out the item, monotonously mumbling his total, to which he doesn't hesitate to swipe one of the credit cards in the leather billfold. Once the cashier handed him his bag, he stuffs it into the bag he had slung over his shoulder and leaves quickly.
Now to find the bus station, he thought to himself, moving his eyes over the streets looking for signs. His eyes catch a large blue sign, an arrow pointing down the street that indicates it belongs to a bus station. He hurries over to it, catching the cashier just as she finished a transaction.
He pulls out the billfold, pulling out the cash instead of the credit card and setting it on the counter, "I need a bus ticket."
"Where to?" She chirps, smiling softly as she punches in the request on her computer.
"As far away as possible," he licks his lips, chewing on the dead skin that formed on them as his nerves increased with each passing second.
"Okay," she nods, typing in her computer, "So I have a bus leaving from here in less than ten minutes to Daegu, looks as if it'll be a 5 hour drive-"
"I'll take it," he nods, she immediately took his money to pay for the ticket. Once she handed him the slip of paper, she gave him directions where the bus is located and he once more takes off. It wasn't far from the tollbooth thank goodness, and Seonghwa along with five other people were there waiting for the bus.
As he waited, he heard sirens in the distance and felt his blood run cold. They were after him, they were going to find him. The bus pulls up just in time, and Seonghwa pulls his hood over his head as he stepped on first. After handing the bus driver his ticket, he grabs one of the seats in the very back and hunkered down as low as he can go.
The sirens race past the bus, black cars with red and blue flashing lights broke through the slight darkness of the city.
The bus takes off, and he lets out a breath of relief as he watched the city flash by him.
He's free.
