*yes, this is Kaleb's POV, once again.
———-It had been a few days since Vaughn and I last spoke and I can't front, I missed hanging out with him, just kicking shit.
I had tried texting and calling him, but he hadn't picked up.
I can admit, I had slightly taken my anger out on him and it wasn't cool. But while I was able to get over things rather quickly, Vaughn was stubborn and would continue to hold a grudge if I didn't initiate a conversation.
So I knew he was deliberately ignoring my calls.
I decided to go to the one place I knew I would run into him, the basketball court.
Just like I thought, he was shooting hoops with a few other people from the neighborhood. No teams or nothing like that.
But to my surprise, he was here with Eaze.
This man didn't even like Eaze up until a few weeks ago, when I made them talk it out."What's good y'all boys?"
Eaze turned around after passing the ball to Vaughn, who just ignored me and threw the ball up.
"Twin, wassup with you?" Eaze dapped me up.
"Nothin, what you doing on this side of town?" I eyed Vaughn, who was still acting as if I wasn't there.
"Ya boy invited me. I assumed you was gone push up too. I ain't really ask no questions." He could tell something was off between Vaughn and I.
"Oh okay yeah, cool. I was just asking."
There was an awkward silence and it was clear that Vaughn still wasn't going to speak.
Eaze looked at me. "Aight, ion know what y'all two niggas got going on, but I'm give y'all a minute and go call my girl." I nodded as he walked off.
Vaughn glanced at me and went back to playing by himself.
"You can't answer the phone nigga? I been trying to call you."
I waited a few seconds and he didn't say anything.
"Hello?" I asked."I heard you."
I smacked my teeth and walked up, snatching the ball out of his hand."Man, watch out." He tried grabbing it. I moved away, pushing him back.
"Naw bruh, shit ain't even that deep. You act like we never argued before."
He tried grabbing the ball again and I backed up.
"Kaleb bruh, I'm not in the fucking mood. Give me the ball.""Or what?"
He sighed. "Bro damn, shit don't always work on your time. Mfs got lives outside of your lame ass."
"You being a weirdo. It's not that deep. Like I said, you act like we ain't never argued."
"Cause I'm tired of your shit bruh! Damn, you drama asf. If it's not Atiyya you got a problem with it's Jamie, if it ain't Jamie it's ya dad if it ain't ya dad it's me. I try to help you and then you want to blow up on my ass, so if I want a few days to keep from smacking the shit out yo ass, then fucking let me be!"
