June 3rd, 2017"You tryna tell me I ain't shit?"
"I ain't tryna tell you shit, I'll tell ya mama you ain't shit."The girls and I giggled at Tupac's choice of words. It was around twelve in the afternoon and we had been watching Juice.
"Girl, Omar Epps used be so fine. What the hell happened." Nabora commented, watching Bishop and Que argue across the screen.
"I know right. He didn't age too well." "Sure didn't." Nabora shook her head.
"Tupac and Khalil Kain was fine too, let me have been old enough during that time." I bit my lip.
"You only like Khalil cause he reminds you of Kaleb." Nabora turned her lip up.
I squinted my eyes in her direction. "You just be talking cause they don't even look alike. Khalil Kain is fine regardless especially with that little hoop earring. Bless his soul." I put my hand in the air.
"Okay so we can all agree that they were all fine except for Steel, now be quiet."
"Oop. Attitude." I said, Nabora and I looked at each other. Rickie hated when we talked during movies. She was the type to not even want to hear a pin drop if she was watching something she was into.I retied my silk robe and got up from the couch. The middle of the day was probably the most boring time of the week, whether Nabora and Rickie were here or not.
My mother often worked long shifts and I was just such a homebody. The girls and I were still in our pajamas. Of course we had done our hair and handled our morning hygiene just it case we decided to go somewhere, but other than that we took this time to just relax.
"Where you going?" Rickie asked.
"To use the bathroom and mind my business."I grabbed my phone that was on the charger off the edge of the couch and walked to the guest bathroom, opening the door and closing it behind me. I made sure to lock it because Nabora and Rickie loved to catch me while I was slipping.
The first thing I did was look at myself in the mirror, fixing any fly aways in my hair. I had also taken the time to do my makeup that morning. Not for any special reason, but because I just felt like it. It was something about it that was very therapeutic. Anyways, I took a few selfies and rolled my eyes at the ones I didn't find appealing and posted the ones I did.
Finally, I used to bathroom, washed my hands, and left out.
"This is cute." I walked back to the living room to see Nabora holding up her phone and showing me the selfie I had took in the bathroom.
I looked at her oddly. "Thanks, you must've already been on Instagram."
"No, I got your post notifications on." She brought her phone down and began scrolling again.
I chuckled and sat back down on the couch. "Why?"
"Because I want to."Rickie smacked her teeth and got up to turn off the movie. "If y'all gone keep talking, then I don't want to watch the movie." She turned around to look at us.
