Mason was on his way to the designated spot he had told Pedro to meet him at. After having his brother so close, he wanted to spend as much time with him as possible before he returned back home with his distant aunt by Christmas. He was still tensed from his argument with Kaura but he would find her later. They both needed some time to cool off.
By the time Mason approached the tree, never in his eternal life did he expect to see what he saw. Jade was bent over, talking to Pedro who was smiling. It appeared she had brought him a popsicle and Mason growled when he flitted to her.
He grabbed her arm, jerking her back and away from his little brother. "What are you doing here." A command, not a question.
Jade chuckled, standing to her full height and pushed the wavy curls from her face. "Hey, Masey baby, long time no see. I was here for like two days. Miss me?"
He shielded Pedro's view from her and snarled, "Don't call me that."
She ran her fingers down his chest, her flirty eyes rising to his. "What, you afraid your girlfriend will hear?"
He grabbed her hand viciously. "I don't know what you're doing here but leave."
Jade moved rapidly, using her vampire speed to break the arm he was holding her with. "I don't think I can do that, baby. Because you see, I'm here because of you. And I'm here to stay."

Lizzie heard a knocking sound at her door but she didn't move to get it or make the effort to tell the other person to leave. She remained on her bed, under the covers with her back facing the door. Josie was at the library and recently, she read more than she usually did. Something about escaping from reality.
Regardless, the door swung open and Lizzie already knew who it was. Raf shut the door and approached the bed quietly. When he sank onto her bed, he slowly grabbed her arm. "Babe? I'm sorry about what happened. Please can we not fight--"
"Are you though?" Lizzie turned to him with a menacing scowl. "Because it took you 28 hours and 14 minutes to come and find me."
He blinked. "I-I did not think you would be counting." She rolled her eyes and dropped back to her bed, completely shutting him out. "I can get you those sugary candies you really like."
"She always has to ruin everything," Lizzie began, her eyes pooling with tears. "I actually thought we were getting somewhere and I was finally reaching the point of my life where I was stable. But Kaura freaking Bennett Parker just had to get in between--"
"Kaura didn't do anything--"
"Oh, so you're taking her side now?"
Raf sighed, pulling her up into a sitting position. "Lizzie. I regret what happened yesterday and I wish I said this sooner but I'm not in love with Kaura, not anymore. I love her as a friend but not the way I..." He trailed off and Lizzie's brows rose in question. "Not the way I love you."
Lizzie wiped her tears away, sniffling slightly before she huffed. "Finally. That should not have been as hard as it was."
"What?" Raf asked with shock.
Lizzie cleared her throat, rearranging her hair. "Say it one more time, just in case the universe didn't hear you. Tell the stars, the moon, fate that you're in love with me and not that demented witch."
Raf snorted, reaching forward to cup her cheek. "You're too much sometimes." He pecked her cheek and then snatched her lips. He began to kiss her, hot and fiery tingles exploding across her skin and sending shivers of satisfaction throughout her entire body. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Raf toppled over Lizzie, sliding in between her legs fluidly.
Her fingers clawed at his shirt, pulling it off. Raf's caramel chest came into view as he loomed over her. He dipped down and began to intimately kiss her shoulder. Lizzie hooked her legs around his waist, clutching his frame to her chest. His fingers slid under her shirt, brushing up against her bra. He rapidly unhooked it, palming the mounds of bare flesh.
Lizzie reached for the foil packet and opened it. She reached for his belt buckle, tossing the accessory across the room. Soon, she slid the thin sheet of plastic over him and looked into his chocolate eyes. She kissed his cheek once before sinking into his mouth again. Raf groaned as he yanked her pants down. It didn't take long for him to brush at her entrance.
She relaxed back as he slid in and he rested his forehead against hers with a deep breath. They began to rub against each other like two surfaces longing for friction, pushing towards the peak of pleasure. Lizzie clenched the sheets, throwing her head back as she moaned, "Raf."
Raf kissed her chest, riding out her spasms of fulfillment before he followed soon after. They both took deep breaths, trying to recover from the euphoric feeling coursing through their veins.
The thick covers rested above their naked bodies and Raf's chest puffed up and down as they both stared at the ceiling. He hugged Lizzie to his chest with one muscular arm and grinned. "I don't know why but that time felt better than the others."
"This feeling is so addicting. I don't think I'll ever get used to it," she mumbled and Raf nodded his agreement. "God, I remember that one time Kaleb walked in on us?" Raf laughed and watched as she propped herself up on his abs. Lizzie began tracing the fine ridges and said under her breath, "I think...I think I fell in love with you the moment you switched my morality switch back. Sounds screwed up but it was reassuring to have someone be able to put back the broken pieces of what I am."
Raf reached for her face, tucking a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. "You're not broken, babe, you're beautiful." He smiled at her, caressing her cheek before running his fingers through her lips. "I think I fell in love with you the moment you showed up for my first turn. No matter how much I told you to leave, you stuck around. You weren't scared of the most dangerous part of myself even when I was."
