He Kissed the Rain

Chapter 13

Governor Sergio Escobal

The rain was pouring hard and we do not mind it at all. I think my body was controlled because of my sudden actions. My eyes were closed and my body was anticipating for something. The moment was ruined when something got on my nose.

" Achooo!" I freaking sneezed and it was so akward!

Napabukas ako ng aking mga mata dahil sa katangahan ko. Naabutan kong pang nakalukot ang mukha ni Serge at napapikit pa siya, it's because I sneezed directly on his face.

" E-excuse me, something got inside of my nose." I awkwardly said. Agad siyang napapahid sa kaniyang mukha gamit ang nakatalikod niyang palad dahil may konting saliva ang tumalsik sa mukha niya.

Serge did not leave my side, not the until the rain has stopped. He's now beside me, slightly closing his eyes. I took a glance on his face and asked him.

" Pinagtataguan mo ba ako kanina?" slowly he opened his eyes and his mouth gaped. Serge scratched his nose and avoided my eyes.

" H-hindi naman." sagot niya na nag-aalangan. Pinagtataguan niya talaga ako, e. Umirap ako sa kaniyang sagot.

" Akin na." usal ko at inabot ang aking kamay patungo sakaniya. Nagtataka siyang nakatingin sa kamay ko, Serge tilted his head. My forehead creased in confusion because of his action. Serge grab my hand ang hold it.

My jaw dropped because of his sudden move. Did he thought that I was asking for his hand...

Mas lalong nakunot ang noo ko sa ginawa niya.

" Why? You want me to hold your hand right?." nagtatakang tanong niya.

" Akin na yung sasakyan ko. Asan na?" tanong ko ulit. Narealize naman niya kung ano ang ibig kung sabihin. Pinanlakihan ko pa siya ng mga mata para bawiin ang kamay niyang nakahawak sa kamay ko. 

Serge immediately withdraw his hand out and use it to scratch the end of his eyebrow because of embarrassment. I noticed how his ears turned red and he got flustered because of what he did.

" M-mamaya ipapadala ko sa basement ng condo mo." sagot niya sa akin. Serge immediately stood up and he started to walk. Napatayo ako ng wala oras dahil sa mabilis niyang mga hakbang. Inabutan kami ng gabi, wala ng katao-tao sa loob ng university. Mayroon pa namang ilaw sa ibang establishments pero lahat ay nakapatay na.

" Wait!" hinihingal kung sigaw sa kaniya. I run with all my might and walk beside him. I breathe some air and that makes my cheeks bigger then I breathe out. Napatingin sa akin si Serge dahil sa malakas na tunog na dulot ng aking paghinga.

Then I remembered I am still holding his stethoscope.

" Here, naiwan mo kanina." saad ko at inabot ang stethoscope sakaniya, Serge take it and continued to walk again, the sound of crickets enveloped our surroundings. I want to start a conversation to make myself less scared but Serge was so quiet and has no plan to talk.

" Thanks, kay Saul ang stethoscope na 'to,naiwan niya sa bahay." sagot niya. Kaya pala hinahanap siya ni Saul kanina. But-, my forehead creased in confusion.

" I thought you're a medical student but it turns out si Saul pala." usal ko dahil hindi makapaniwala.

" I study engineering and Saul is a Med student."

" Talaga! Hindi ako makapaniwala na Med student si Saul." marami pa talaga akong hindi alam sa kanila.

" Saul's family owned a hospital here in Central and in other places too. His mom is a doctor, his dad and his older brother. Everyone were expecting him to be a doctor, that's why." kaya pala. I just know na may ospital ang pamilya ni Saul but I don't know  that they were family of doctors.
