The light shining through Magnus’s sheer curtains is what woke Alec up the next morning. He tried to open his eyes, but his body betrayed him. Giving up, he turned his face into the pillow. It was soft...silky. Magnus. Alec had slept so well he’d forgotten that he wasn’t in his own bed at the institute. The Institute. Alec shot up from the bed remembering that he had duties other than sleep or Magnus. He was alone and shirtless. Well he can’t go back to the institute without a shirt. Crawling off the huge bed he began to inspect the room, spotting his shirt tossed in the corner. As he grabbed it to put it on, images from last night flashed through his head. Magnus on the couch, Magnus on his neck, Magnus on other places that he shouldn’t be thinking about right now.
He opened the door to Magnus’s room cautiously, not wanting to disturb the silence that had dwelled in the apartment all morning. Still no sign of Magnus. He was probably busy doing High Warlock of Brooklyn things like strengthening barriers, or practicing magic, or-
“Awake I see”
He appeared from out of nowhere with a cup of orange juice in his hand. Setting it down on the table that stood beside him, he began striding towards Alec.
“Where were you, I didn’t-”
Magnus interrupted Alec.
“On the couch”
Alec gave Magnus a confused look.
“I didn’t want to be tempted to do something that I really shouldn’t do” Magnus purred, feeling the electricity of his body nearing Alec’s.
“Okay… I- I have to go, they need me at the institute”
“You’re kidding”
“I wish I were, I'm sorry” Alec apologized walking backwards towards the entrance of the apartment.
He found his boots waiting for him by the door, while Magnus stared at him from where he was standing, watching Alec prepare himself to leave.
Tying up the last shoelace he turned to Magnus again.
“I’ll call you as soon as I can, promise” he reassured him
“I believe you” Magnus crowed from where he was standing.
Alec turned from Magnus to the door, spotting a mirror on his left as he did so. He walked towards it examining his hair that was more messy than usual. He tried fixing it with his hands but eventually gave up. That's when he saw it. Marks left all over the pale skin of his neck. He was all of a sudden completely aware of how he got them and what others would think when they saw them.
He rubbed his hand over them examining it with his fingers. Panic was all Alec felt as he was thinking of all the various scenarios that could play out all because he couldn’t keep his hands off Magnus. He took another hard look at his neck before speaking again.
“This has to go”
“I think it's adorable” Magnus pouted, making the annoyed look on Alec’s face grow even more so.
“Magnus, this isn’t funny. I’m training with Jace today, this isn’t going to work I -”
“Calm down Alexander” Magnus said lazily walking toward Alec.
Once he reached him Magnus grabbed him by the hair and tilted his head to examine the marks.
“Let’s not be over dramatic here”
He leaned in closer, pulling Alec’s neck towards him. Alec cleared his throat trying to ease the sexual tension in the room. It didn’t work.
Magnus raised his other hand to Alec’s throat, rubbing his thumb over the hickies, bringing his mouth closer. Alec almost lost control when he felt Magnus’s mouth on his neck, leaving sweet kisses on each mark, then pulling away.
