“If Valentine has this entire building cloaked then we shouldn’t have to worry about making a scene” Jace thought aloud while looking at the diagram that appeared on the screen in front of them.
“Okay but look” Alec said expanding the screen with his first finger and thumb to zoom attempting to look for the building’s entrance.
Just as he thought there was none.
“How are they getting inside?”
“Maybe underground!” Simon chirped from behind them.
“Underground?” Jace said mockingly as he turned to him, as if it was the stupidest thing he’d ever heard.
Alec obviously thought otherwise and shot Jace a disappointed look.
“Let the vampire speak”
The look on Simons face was one of pride as he shot a face back at Jace before speaking again.
“Well unbeknownst to Shadowhunter’s there are hundreds of tunnels and entrances all around new york. I mean, in the city at least” Simon started, as he walked through the group of people and towards the screen, tapping all over it with his hands.
“I don't really know what they were used for when they were built, but today regular people, I mean Mundanes, use them for cool art galleries. Oh a ton of homeless people live in this one” Simon pointed out, zooming in a specific area and tracing across the screen with a marker where the tunnel would be.
“The entrances are everywhere you just have to look a little at the streets, more secluded parts of the city, near or around sewer systems, so if we’re looking at place like this” Simon added going back to the cloaked building on the map.
“You should probably start...100 meters out.”
He drew a circle around the surrounding area of the building.
“Like I said the entrances won’t be obvious”
Simon zoomed into the circle he had made and moved around the screen with his finger until he arrived, at heavily wooded areas, slowing down and examining them. He did the same when he noticed slightly hidden blocks. Simon circled the marker around each area that peaked his interest and when he was done he turned to face Alec.
“It’s all in the details”
Clary stepped forward placing a hand on Simon’s shoulder.
“Good job Simon” She whispered with an impressed look on her face.
Alec simply gave him a small nod of appreciation before turning back to the screen.
“You all see this" Alec spoke raising his voice and turning to the Shadowhunter in the room.
"Save it, print it, memorize it, I don’t care, but have it ready for when the Head’s arrive, we’ll move forward from there” Alec directed before making his way past an enraged Jace and towards Izzy.
“You know you don’t have to call them The Head’s" She said, putting finger quotes around the words.
“That's what they are” Alec replied defensively.
“Yeah but they’re also your parents”
“And…” Alec continued, waiting for her to elaborate.
“And they've been gone for months, at least be a little happy they're back, come on smile”
She lifted her fingers to the corner of his mouth and turned it upwards.
