Hope's pov
I walked slowly into the assembly hall at two in the morning wearing black leggings and Landon's hoodie, rubbing my eyes. I spotted him giving me a small wave from one of the tables on the other side of the room and I picked my way through the other tables filled with half-asleep students to him.
"Is that my hoodie?" he asked as I sat beside him and leaned my head on his shoulder.
"It's warm," I replied tiredly, snuggling further into his neck.
"Looks better on you anyway," he said, chuckling quietly and kissing my head.
"I've barely slept all week and now Rick calls an emergency assembly at two in the morning!" I whined, so tired I was struggling to keep my eyes open. Landon just wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer before I felt someone else sit down next to me. I turned my head, seeing Lizzie's blonde hair and then nuzzled back into Landon's neck.
"Hi," Lizzie yawned before resting her head on my shoulder just as I was doing with Landon. Eventually Rick started talking about something to do with Malivore and the prison world, but I tuned out and closed my eyes, focusing instead on the steady beat of Landon's pulse beneath my cheek. After around ten minutes Rick dismissed the rest of the high-school students, holding the Super Squad back.
Landon's pov
"Super Squad hang back, we need to have a meeting in the honour council room," Dr. Saltzman said after sending the other students back to their dorms.
"Yeah that might be a problem," I said, motioning my head towards the two practically sleeping girls next to me. He laughed.
"Wow, never thought I'd see the day when Hope Mikaelson would let her guard down in public, she must be really tired," he sighed.
"Yeah," Jed agreed, "Lizzie's just Lizzie though, if she's tired she falls asleep anywhere, been doing it for years,"
"Seriously," Kaleb laughed.
"Yeah, she's been doing it her entire life," Alaric replied, smiling at his daughter, amused as she lay on my girlfriend's shoulder.
"We're awake," Lizzie groaned, irritated, but still not opening her eyes.
"Sure you are," Kaleb replied sarcastically. MG let out an amused sigh.
"I got her," he said, walking over to us kneeling in front of Lizzie, "Do you want to get on my back?" He asked. Lizzie nodded in agreement, something she would never do if she was fully awake, then climbed onto MG's back and let him carry her into the honour council room. Everyone went in behind them, leaving the door open for Hope and I.
"Hey Sweetie?" I whispered into her hair, she let out a cute, tired noise, moving slightly on my shoulder. "You have to get up now," I said quietly, rubbing her back gently.
"No..." she whined into my neck and I laughed quietly at how adorable she was when she was tired before pulling her up by her hands, she immediately slumped back into my side as I held her up and I laughed again, sighing in defeat, then picking her up bridal style, she moved her head and looked around for a second, deciding quickly that she didn't care and snuggling back into my chest.
"I failed," I say as I walk into the honour council room, "I couldn't wake her up,"
"She's so small," Kaleb said, looking at Hope in my arms.
"She's tiny," Jed agreed, looking extremely confused, "Has she always been that tiny?"
"Literally always," Rick commented, "I don't really where it comes from, no one in her family's short,"
"I never noticed she was overly short," Kaleb said.
"I did," Lizzie chimed in tiredly, not moving her head from where it lay on the desk, "Man guys are blind," she scoffed.
"I'm not that short," Hope mumbled into my shirt.
"No course not Sweetie," I replied back to her sarcastically, earning me a light punch in the chest that I should've seen coming.
"Shut up," She growled irritated, but too tired to hold a grudge.
"I've never seen Hope clingy," Mg said.
"I always forget you guys have never really seen Hope tired," I reply back to him, sitting Hope down at the table before sitting next to her.
"This is Hope tired?" Kaleb asked, surprised.
"This is Hope tired," I repeated.
"Alright, we need to talk about Malivore and the prison world, where's Josie?" Dr. Saltzman asked.
"Probably sleeping instead of going to 2am assemblies like any sane person would be," Lizzie murmured, her head still laying on the table. Alaric just sighed and then we proceeded to talk about solutions and how to make sure Malivore doesn't escape. Throughout the meeting I kept looking back at Hope, trying to stay awake as best she could but I felt bad for her, the anniversary of her mother's death is in three days and she hasn't been sleeping well all week because of it. After around fifteen minutes I leaned over to whisper in her ear.
"Go to sleep Baby," I breathed, "I'll tell you the plan tomorrow," she nodded and lay her head on the desk, drifting to sleep.
Ten minutes later Alaric dismissed us and Kaleb and Jed left almost immediately, while MG helped Lizzie up and began walking her back to her dorm.
"Are you alright with Hope?" Rick asked, standing up.
"Yeah," I nodded, standing too. "I'll just carry her back to her room,"
"Ok, goodnight Landon," he said walking out.
"Goodnight Dr. Saltzman," I replied, before picking Hope up and taking her back to her dorm. Once I got inside I shut her door and lay her on her bed, pulling the covers over her shoulders, kissing her head and whispering in her ear,
"Sweet dreams Baby girl," I was just turning to go back to my dorm, when she turned to grab my hand.
"Stay," she murmured drowsily and I smiled, unable to say no to her - I never can.
"Ok," I say, lying down next to her and pulling into my chest. I turned out the light on her bedside-table and closed my eyes, falling asleep with her wrapped in my arms.
