- CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO -

The Awkward Hogsmeade Trip

"The next Hogsmeade trip will be in the middle of January for all those asking," Professor McGonagall announced as they neared the end of their Transfiguration lesson. "Yes! We have to go!" Juniper said, "obviously!" Emmie replied, "oi Emmie," she heard a whisper behind her, she turned around to see George, "what?"
"Please come to Hogsmeade with us," he said, "you and Juniper."
Emmie sighed, "who's us?"
"Me, Fred and Angelina," George replied somehow not realising what was wrong with that.
Emmie opened her mouth to decline the offer when Juniper turned around, "we'll be there," she said excited, "what?"
Emmie pushed her, "we will be there," Juniper repeated with a smile.
"First you tell me to forget about Fred and now we're going to Hogsmeade with him," Emmie whispered as they turned back around and Juniper just shrugged and laughed.

It was the morning of the Hogsmeade trip and Emmie and Juniper were sat in the Great Hall eating breakfast and waiting for Fred, George and Angelina.
It wasn't long before they entered and Juniper was shouting, "over here!"
"Hi," George smiled as they sat down, "hi," the two girls replied, "hi," said Angelina but Emmie just smiled at her and Fred slightly. Juniper, on the other hand, held her hand out for them to shake, "Juniper Langley!"
"Er hi," they said before shaking her hand apprehensively.
"Could you pass the butter please?" Fred asked Juniper as he placed two slices of toast on his plate, "Emmie's closer," she smiled, "oh er can you - "
"Oh yeah," Emmie replied not looking him in the eyes. She reached for the butter and handed it to him as he went to reach for a knife, their hands touched but not in a nice romantic way, he accidentally pushed her hand into the butter. Juniper and George started to laugh as Emmie blushed in embarrassment, "I'm so sorry," Fred said, "oh no it's fine," Emmie replied, "no seriously let me help you with that," he reached for some napkins, "honestly it's fine,"
"Gulping gargoyles," Juniper leant over the table to whisper at George whilst Angelina just sat there awkwardly watching it all unfold.

They finished their breakfast and were soon walking down the icy road towards Hogsmeade.
"It's so awkward," Emmie said to Juniper as they walked just behind the other three, "yeah that was kind of hard to watch but it'll get better I promise," Juniper replied, "I hope so," Emmie said but Juniper had already run ahead. She got in-between Fred and Angelina and put her arm around Fred and, when Angelina sulked a bit and fell back so she was walking along side Emmie, she put her arm around George as well, "so boys I heard you like mischief," Emmie heard Juniper say.
"You know me and Fred aren't together," Angelina said, breaking the silence between them, "huh?"
"We're not actually together," she repeated, "oh," Emmie replied, "well I couldn't care either way,"
"You don't have to lie you know," Angelina said, "I'm not,"
She stared at Emmie for a second before speaking, "I've seen the way you two look at each other and whatever happened in the Great Hall at breakfast, it was weird and awkward as hell but that doesn't happen between friends,"
"So what are you saying?" Emmie asked, "I'm saying I think you need him and he needs you." Angelina replied, "if only it was that easy."

"Me and George need to talk to Ludo Bagman but we'll meet you back here in a few minutes," Fred said as they arrived at Honeydukes, "why?" Angelina asked, "he said he'd set us up with the owners of Zonko's, try and get a proper business up and running," George replied.
Emmie laughed to herself as she looked at some licorice wands, "do they ever stop?"
"Honestly, everything they do is about their fake wands and puking pastels," Angelina replied,
Emmie looked to Juniper for her comment but she was too busy flirting with the cashier.

After the girls had bought a few things from Honeydukes and the twins had returned, they walked up to the Shrieking Shack.
Emmie, Juniper and George sat on the floor whilst Angelina and Fred leant against the fence which came between them and the shack.
"I saw you talking to Angelina earlier," Juniper said as she offered them an Every Flavour Bean, "yeah," Emmie replied as she took a handful, "what were you saying?"
"She told me her and Fred aren't together,"
"Well that's good, isn't it?" Juniper asked, "I guess," Emmie said before pointing to them.
Juniper turned around to see Fred and Angelina making out, "ah, I see."
George picked a small pebble off the ground and threw it at Fred, hitting the back of his head. He broke from the kiss and turned around suddenly, "what?"
George nodded towards Emmie and, just as Fred looked at her, she bit into a dirt flavoured bean and started to cough and gag and spit it onto the floor next to her.
Juniper laughed, "you like to pick your moments don't you."

The group arrived back at Hogwarts and started to say their goodbyes, "get a move on," Fred said to George as he hugged Emmie, "me and Angelina want to get back to the dorms to... Well you don't want to know," he smirked.
Emmie grimaced and looked to her feet, "wow," she whispered to herself. She grabbed Juniper's arm and led her away from them as Fred and Angelina left in the other direction but George followed them, "hey,"
"What!" Emmie said annoyed, "it was really good hanging out with you two today," he said, "right," she replied bluntly, "look I know it's weird but... You'll get used to it, we all will,"
"This is so stupid," she replied but Juniper pushed in front of her, "will you stop being so... So frigid,"
"What?"
She turned to George, "we had alot of fun today and we'd love to do it again with Fred and Angelina as well."
"Great!" George replied as Juniper grabbed Emmie and started dragging her away this time.
"No!" Emmie shouted, "I didn't agree to this! What the fuck!"

"Language Miss Nightingale!" Professor McGonagall said sternly as she walked past making Emmie blush in embarrassment, "sorry Professor."
