The Goblet Of Fire

Emmie entered the Hufflepuff common room in tears. Juniper was sat on a wooden stall, feeding some flesh eating daffodils, "oh Christ," Emmie whispered to herself when she saw her.
She sunk into an armchair nearby and started poking the fire in the fireplace with a metal rod. After a few minutes, Juniper sat down next to her, "hey," she said but Emmie just looked at her, Juniper handed her a tissue, "you look like you need this."
"Why are you being nice to me?" Emmie asked her confused, "me and Lucian broke up, for good this time. I don't know what I was ever thinking with him, I mean he looks like a mountain troll," Emmie laughed slightly, "anyway, I realized that I was a massive bitch to... Well everyone. So erm I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Me and Fred just broke up too," Emmie replied, "oh no, you too seemed so cute,"
"Yeah well nevermind aye," Emmie smiled and wiped her eyes with the tissue.

As the next day was Saturday, students normally had breakfast late however most students were rising much earlier than usual.
When Emmie and Juniper went down to the Entrance Hall they saw about twenty people milling around it all examining the Goblet of Fire. It had been placed in the centre of the hall on the stool that normally bore the Sorting Hat and a thin gold line had been traced on the floor forming a circle ten feet around it in every direction.
Someone laughed behind them, turning they saw Fred, George and Lee hurrying down the staircase, all three of them looking extremely excited.
"Just ignore them," Juniper whispered but Emmie couldn't help but watch as Fred pulled a slip of parchment out of his pocket and stepped over the line. "It worked," she whispered to herself as George leapt over after him but suddenly there was a loud sizzling sound and both twins were hurled out of the golden circle. They landed, painfully, ten feet away on the cold stone floor and to add insult to injury, there was a loud popping noise and both of them sprouted identical, long white beards.
The Entrance Hall rang with laughter but Emmie just looked at them wondering what it would have been like if she had skipped into the hall with them and lightly kissed Fred on the cheek just before he crossed the line. If she had ran to make sure they were all right when they hit the floor and burst out in hysterics when their beards appeared.

The two girls entered the Great Hall which was decorated with live bats and carved pumpkins for Hallowe'en. "Do you know which Hogwarts students have entered?" Emmie asked Juniper as she grabbed a slice of toast, "apparently Cassius Warrington has and there's talk that Cedric might as well," she replied.
People were cheering out in the Entrance Hall, the girls swivelled around in their seats to see Angelina coming into the hall grinning. She sat at the Gryffindor table and they heard her say, "well I've done it! Just put my name in!"
Emmie rolled her eyes. She had decided she hated Angelina when her and Fred kissed at the New Year's party.

The evening fell and everyone was back in the main hall for the feast and to find out who would be competing in the Triwizard Tournament.
Everyone ate quickly and eagerly waited for Dumbledore to stand. At long last, the golden plates returned to their original spotless state and Dumbledore got to his feet, "well, the Goblet is almost ready to make its decision," he said, "when the champions names are called, I would ask them please to come up to the top of the Hall and go through into the next chamber where you will receive further instructions."
He took out his wand and gave a great sweeping wave with it; at once, all the candles except those inside the carved pumpkins were extinguished, plunging them all into a state of semi-darkness. The Goblet Of Fire now shone bright, bluey-whiteness of the flames almost painful on the eyes.
The flames inside the Goblet turned suddenly red and sparks began to fly from it. Next moment a tongue of flame shot into the air and a charred piece of parchment fluttered out of it.
Dumbledore caught the piece of parchment, "the champion for Durmstrang," he read, "will be Viktor Krum."
A storm of applause and cheering swept the hall as Viktor rose from the Slytherin table and walked into the next chamber.
The clapping died down as a second piece of parchment shot out of the Goblet. "The champion for Beauxbatons," said Dumbledore, "is Fleur Delacour!"
Emmie watched in amazement as a girl who resembled a Veela got gracefully to her feet, shook back her sheet of silvery blonde hair and swept up between the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tables.
When Fleur had vanished into the side chamber, silence fell again. Dumbledore caught the third piece of parchment, "the Hogwarts champion," he called, "is Cedric Diggory!"
Emmie, along with every single Hufflepuff jumped to their feet, screaming and clapping as Cedric made his way past, grinning broadly.
"Excellent!" Dumbledore called happily as Cedric disappeared into the chamber and the noise had died down, "well, we now have our three champions. I am sure I can count upon all of you, including the remaining students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, to give your champions every ounce of support you can muster. By cheering your champion on you will contribute in a very real -"
But Dumbledore suddenly stopped speaking and it was apparent to everybody what had distracted him.
The Goblet was spitting sparks out left, right and centre, a long flame shot suddenly into the air along with another piece of parchment. Automatically, it seemed, Dumbledore reached out a long hand and seized the parchment, he held it out and stared at the name written upon it. There was a long pause and then Dumbledore cleared his throat and read out -
"Harry Potter."

The hall buzzed with chatter and everyone turned to look at Harry, some standing up to get a better look.
"Harry Potter!" Dumbledore called again. "Harry! Up here if you please!"
Harry got to his feet and walked towards Dumbledore slowly and cautiously.
Once Harry had disappeared into the side chamber and a few teachers followed, the chatter in the hall got louder.
"Oh my god," Juniper said, "I know! I've... I've got to talk to -" Emmie turned to look at the Gryffindor table where Fred was laughing with George, Lee and Angelina. "Oh... Yeah nevermind," she turned back to Juniper and hung her head, "do you miss him?" She asked, Emmie nodded, "loads. Do you think I made a mistake? Breaking up with him I mean."
"No. Don't even think about it."
"Yeah, you're right," Emmie smiled, "what do you think they're going to do about Harry?"
"I don't know, do you reckon he put his name in?" Juniper asked, "well how could he? You saw what happened to... You know it doesn't work."
