The Order Of The Phoenix
"Conspiracy theories, all it is is conspiracy theories and lies," Emmie's mother spoke as she chopped up a pepper in the kitchen, "no it isn't. I don't understand why you don't believe me," Emmie said, "why I don't believe you? Because it's rubbish, You-Know-Who is not back,"
"Why not?" Emmie asked, "because he's dead!" Her mother shouted, "Cedric Diggory is dead!" Emmie shouted back, "yes and it was a tragic accident,"
"It was murder!"
"Please stop shouting," her mother spoke calmly, "please stop being so fucking stupid then!" Emmie shouted.
There was a silence as her mother turned a deep shade of red, "go to your room and NEVER speak to me that way again!"Emmie screamed before storming off, she stomped all the way up the stairs and slammed the door, then she pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill and wrote a letter to Fred:
Dear Fred,
My parents don't believe that You-Know-Who is back and they're really pissing me off. I don't suppose you're mum would be okay with me staying at The Burrow. Please.
Emmie xxShe put the letter in an envelope and gave it to Orion, "good boy," she spoke stroking his head, "take this to Fred."
The next morning Emmie woke up to Orion tapping his beak on her window. She let him in and took the letter from him:
Dear Emmie,
You can stay with us but we're not at The Burrow, we're at number twelve, Grimmauld Place, London.
Fred xxEmmie quickly packed a bag and ran downstairs, "bye mum," she shouted, "where are you going?" Her mother asked, "somewhere where people actually believe me," she smiled, "no you're not -"
But Emmie had already apparated.Emmie arrived on a dark, quiet street, the grimy fronts if the surrounding houses were not welcoming; some of them had broken windows, paint was peeling from many of the doors and heaps of rubbish lay outside several sets of front steps.
"Emmie?" Said a voice behind her, she turned around to see Harry stood there with Mad-Eye Moody, Professor Lupin, a younger witch with a pale heart-shaped face, dark twinkling eyes and short spiky hair that was a violent shade of violet and a bald black wizard who wore a single gold hoop in his ear.
"What are you doing here?" Emmie asked, "I don't know," Harry replied, "what about you?"
"I'm not too sure either."
They looked back at the row of houses and Emmie noticed that there was no number twelve.
Then a battered door emerged out of nowhere between numbers eleven and thirteen, followed swiftly by dirty walls and grimy windows. It was as though an extra house had inflated, pushing those on either side out of its way.
"Come on, hurry," growled Moody, Lupin pulled out his wand and tapped the door once and the door creaked open.
"Get in quick," Lupin whispered, "but don't go far inside and don't touch anything.
Harry and Emmie stepped over the threshold into the almost total darkness of the hall, they could small damp, dust and a rotting smell.
Everyone else filed in behind them and the hallway began to become light. There were hurried footsteps and Mrs Weasley emerged from a door at the far end of the hall, she was beaming in welcome as she hurried towards them though she was thinner and paler than before.
"Oh, Harry, it's lovely to see you!" She whispered, "Oh and Emmie, come here dears."
She pulled them into a rib-cracking hug, "I'm afraid dinner will have to wait."She led everyone towards a door but quickly stopped, "the meetings only for members of the order I'm afraid. Harry, Ron and Hermione are upstairs to the left. Emmie, Fred and George are to the right."
Emmie walked up the stairs and knocked on the door, Fred opened it slowly and cautiously but when he noticed it was her he relaxed, "you're here!" He said pulling her into a hug, "Emmie!" George ran to her, "what's going on?" She asked them as she entered the gloomy, high-ceilinged, twin-bedded room.
"This is Headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix," George replied but Emmie just stared at him blankly, "it's a secret society," said Fred, "Dumbledore's in charge, he founded it. It's the people who fought against You-Know-Who last time."
"Anyway how did you find getting here?" George asked, "find, I just apparated," Emmie replied, "yeah but what about getting in the house. I would've told you how in the letter but mum said I couldn't incase someone else saw," Fred said, "oh it was fine, I got here at the same time as Harry so they helped me,"
"Harry's here?" Fred asked, "yeah,"
He quickly grabbed Emmie's hand and, with two loud cracks, they appeared in Ron's room.
"Stop doing that!" Hermione said weakly to the twins.
"Hello, Harry," said George beaming at him, "you three passed your apparation tests, then?" Asked Harry grumpily, "with distinction," said Fred as he pulled what looked like a piece of very long, flesh-coloured string from his pocket.
"Harry, you're interfering with reception. Extendable Ears,"
Harry raised his eyebrows, "we're trying to hear what's going on downstairs."
"You want to be careful," said Ron, "if mum sees one of them again..."
"It's worth the risk, that's a major meeting they're having," Fred replied.
The door opened and a long mane of red hair appeared.
"Oh, hello, Harry, Emmie!" Said Ginny brightly, "I thought I heard you two."
She turned to the twins, "it's a no-go with the Extendable Ears, mum's gone and put an Imperturbable Charm on the kitchen door."
"How d'you know?" George asked, "Tonks told me how to find out," said Ginny, "you just chuck stuff at the door and if it can't make contact the door's been Imperturbed. I've been flicking Dungbombs at it from the top of the stairs and they just soar away from it so there's no way the Ears will be able to get under the gap."
Fred sighed, "Shame. I really fancied finding out what old Snape's been up to."
"Snape!" Said Harry quickly, "is he here?"
"Yeah," said George, "giving a report. Top secret.
"Git," said Fred idly.
"He's on our side now," Hermione spoke making Ron snort, "doesn't stop him being a git. The way he looks at is when he sees us."
"Bill doesn't like him either," said Ginny, as though that settled the matter.
"Is Bill here?" Emmie asked, "I thought he was working in Egypt?"
"He applied for a desk job so he could come home and work for the Order," said Fred, "he says he misses the tombs but," he smirked, "there are compensations."
"What do you mean?" Emmie asked him, "remember old Fleur Delacour?" Said George, "she's got a job at Gringotts to improve her English -"
"And Bill's been giving her a lot of private lessons," sniggered Fred.
The noise of Mrs Weasley could be heard coming up the stairs so, once again, Fred grabbed Emmie's hand and a loud crack notified everyone else that they had apparated.
"You can come down and have dinner now." Mrs Weasley said.- Princexiero xx
