The Journey Back To Hogwarts
They got to the tent and soon Percy and Bill returned. Bill's arm was badly wounded and Percy was sporting a bloody nose but Ron, Harry and Hermione where still nowhere to be seen and neither was Mr Weasley.
Suddenly Charlie jumped up and ran to the entrance of the tent, he poked his head out, "dad what's going on?" They heard him call, "Fred, George, Ginny and Emmie got back okay but the others -"
"I've got them here," Mr Weasley's voice could be heard from outside.
The four of them entered the tent, "did you get them Dad?" Said Bill sharply, "the person who conjured the mark?"
"No," said Mr Weasley, "we found Barty Crouch's elf holding Harry's wand but we're none the wiser about who actually conjured the mark."*
Mr Weasley woke them after only a few hours sleep, he used magic to pack up the tents and they left the campfire as quickly as possible.
They got a Portkey back to Stoatshead Hill before the sun had really risen. As they rounded a corner the Burrow came into view, a cry echoed along the lane.
"Oh, thank goodness, thank goodness!"
Mrs Weasley, who had evidently been waiting for them in the front yard, came running towards them, still wearing her slippers, her face pale and strained, a screwed-up copy of the Daily Prophet clutched in her hand, "Arthur - I've been so worried - so worried-"
They all crammed into the tiny kitchen and Hermione made Mrs Weasley a cup of very strong tea, into which Mr Weasley insisted on pouring a shot of Ogden's Old Firewhisky.
Emmie had been clinging onto Fred's arm since they left the campsite, the only time she had stopped was when Mrs Weasley managed to prize her off so she could hug her boys when they returned. "It's alright now," Fred spoke stroking her hair, "we're back home,"
"Is there anything I can do dear?" Mrs Weasley asked, going to hug her, "Godrick, you're shaking like a leaf."
Emmie sniffed and wiped her eye as she pulled her face from Fred's shoulder, "I'm okay," she smiled weakly, "I should go write to my parents so they know I'm safe."*
There was a definite end-of-the-holidays gloom in the air when Emmie woke about a week later. Heavy rain was still splattering against the window as she got dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with her favourite Muggle band on it, Hole.
"I'd better hurry - you have a good term kids," said Mr Weasley as Emmie entered the kitchen.
"Molly, are you going to be all right taking them to King's Cross?"
"Of course I will," she said, "you just look after Mad-Eye, we'll be fine."
As Mr Weasley vanished, Bill and Charlie entered the kitchen.
"Did someone say Mad-Eye?" Bill asked, "what's he been up to now?"
"He says someone tried to break into his house last night," said Mrs Weasley.
"Mad-Eye Moody?" Asked Emmie as she reached over to Fred's plate and took his toast, Fred noticed and slapped her hand before saying, "isn't he that nutter-"
"Your father thinks very highly of Mad-Eye Moody," said Mrs Weasley sternly.
"Yeah, well, Dad collects plugs, doesn't he?" Said George quietly as Mrs Weasley left the room.Bill and Charlie decided to come and see everyone off at King's Cross station, but Percy, apologising profusely, said that he really needed to get to work.
The journey was uncomfortable, owing to the fact that they were jammed in the back of a taxi with their trunks and owls; they were very relieved to get out at King's Cross even though the rain was coming down harder than ever and they got soaked carrying their trunks across the busy road and into the station.
The Hogwarts Express was already on platform nine and three-quarters, clouds of steam billowing from it making the many Hogwarts students and parents appear like dark ghosts.
"Emmie!" A voice called from nearby, Emmie spun around to see Mel, her sister stood with a trunk almost the size of her and a beautiful tawny owl called Moon. "Mel!"
"I was looking for you, I'm nervous," Mel said as she hugged her sister, "well I'm here now. Do you want to go in a carriage with me, Fred and George?" Emmie replied, "yeah," the young girl nodded eagerly.
"You don't mind that do you?" Emmie turned to the twins, "no," Fred replied, "'course not," George said. The four found an empty carriage and sat down. "I wonder what's going to happen this year," Emmie spoke, "yeah, Mum's being really secretive about something," Fred replied, "and Charlie said we will be seeing him alot sooner then we think," George added, "and my Mum took me dress shopping for like a fancy dress for some reason," Mel said.
The rain became heavier and heavier as the train moved further north. The sky was so dark and the windows so steamy that the lanterns were lit by midday.
Emmie and the twins told Mel what had happened at the Quidditch World Cup in vivid, and over exaggerated, detail to try to scare her for the rest of the journey which made her sulk as the Hogwarts Express slowed down and finally stop in the pitch-darkness of Hogsmeade station.
As the train doors opened there was a rumble of thunder overhead and as they left the train the rain came down so thick and fast that is was as though buckets of ice-cold water were being emptied repeatedly over their heads.
"Okay that's Hagrid," Emmie pointed at the gigantic silhouette at the end of the platform, "go to him with the rest of the first years. I'll see you in the Great Hall," she hugged her sister and watched her run down the platform. "Remember to be in Gryffindor!" Fred called after him, "No! Hufflepuff!" Emmie called.- Princexiero xx
