Isabelle's POV

The siren song was a perfect stakeout, especially since I had gotten lucky to have a room on the second floor, allowing me to see everyone, while making it unlikely someone else would spot me. And that's when I blood went cold. I 'd been absolutely right.

Someone had been following me, and it was way worse than any enemy I had ever made. It was the lower guard of Zallin's capital city.

What made them the worst was the fact that they were supported completely by their kingdom, and yet when unsupervised, acted no better than bandits.

More importantly that had complete access to everything, and were aloud to search it, a private library, a noble's home, and at the moment more importantly, they had access to any inn, common or exclusive.

She needed to get out of the, and quickly.

Putting back on the flat cap in place once more I became.

She quickly went down the stairs and out the inn, leaving the key on the counter before anyone noticed Waywork had left.

Emma made me way out, and blended in the crowd, suddenly a glint caught me eye, and I couldn't resist.

It was a gold pin with a pearl on it and had the gold wire bent around it , like a butterfly, which was on a dark blue pillow, for sale among other around it, this had specifically caught me attention since it seemed like easy prey.

Emma knew whoever owned was horribly wealthy, and wouldn't really miss it. And as I passed by, I silently swiped it, I really needed more money.

She put it in me satchel, and made me way across the square.

But that's when I heard a shout, of recognition for .

Emma ducked behind a cluster of people, temporarily hiding from view.

Realizing they were starting to surround my main spotted area, I looked around quickly, and saw a bakery, there was a whole crowd just hanging around it, and would produce a good cover.

She made me way to the bakery's counter.

"One blueberry pie", I said quietly to a strawberry-blonde haired, blue eyed boy, about me age,

"Sure thing!" He answered cheerfully.

He placed the pie on the counter and took the money I 'd placed.

He put the money in the baker's money stash, as I picked up the pie, that's when the reflection in the metallic pie's pan caught me eye, several guards were creeping up on me,

"I'm sorry" I said to the boy,

"make that, a dozen more, of any flavor"

and I turned around and smashed the blueberry pie into the face of the nearest guard, knocking him out.

The guards taken by surprise by such a tactic, froze for a millisecond.

Just enough for the smiling boy to come back with the pies, and that was all I needed.

I began throwing the pies with pinpoint accuracy, knocking the guards out one by one, the metal pans hit them with loud clangs, and they were covered in gooey mess.

Raspberry! cloud burst berry! apple! banana! cream! I threw the pies until I ran out.

The other guards on the other side of the square, seeing the commotion began to run to the aid of their companions.

"it's Waywork!" They yelled to one another.

"You!" I said to the boy.

"is there a backdoor in this bakery?!"

"Y-Yes" he stuttered surprised.

"Good" I answered and vaulted over the counter.

throwing all me money on the bakers stash, which would pay for the pies and more.

I raced towards the back.
