Now in the solitude of his room, Wynn took off his flat cap.
Teasing a bit of his hair he remembered when it was long, before he supposedly died, when he was a princess.
Isabelle felt exhilarated to be back in her home kingdom, she could barely believe it had been two, whole, years, since she'd last set foot in the earth kingdom.
Nearly three since she'd nearly died. She'd basically had to travel all the way to Zallin and back, and she'd had to go by the sea to reach It, which was difficult since it was two-month ride,(and she got sea-sick often).
Zallin was now the kingdom She knew the best, more than Kūmarr. She searched from North, to south, east, to west, of the humongous islands to find the prophecy scroll. And what a fright she'd had when she thought it was nearly blank.
The only thing written on it was 'dragon lens', which she'd found by checking every little rumor (kind of like how she'd found the scroll) , and figured it was to reveal invisible writing, using moon light.
She'd also stolen the original crown of Zallin, a priceless artifact, because she understood it was necessary for the prophecy to come true, or so she hoped.
In stealing this, Wynn Waywork her alter ego, had become the most wanted criminal of Zallin with a bounty on his head.
Wynn had also made quite a few enemies, when Wynn took the dragon lens of Mt. Hocaro, which was a sacred ground, not to mention all the flustered nobles close enough to the royals of Zallin, to know about the secret prophecy scroll and that It had been stolen .
Isabelle had had to change into a new character to avoid getting, recognized, or worse, caught, Isabelle was ashamed to say she'd also become a common thief, in other words she'd had to become Wynn Waywork.
PrincessIsabelle was after all, supposed to have died in the great fire of Scepre, leaving only her 'distraught' fiancée to become the new king of Kūmarr.
That's when their side had begun to loose, apparently, Kūmarr joined Marva, and Zallin revealed to be the ally of the fire kingdom, the air kingdoms, forces where few and scattered, and now Liaon was under siege.
In fact it couldn't have gone worse for her side, but their were now new rebels, which had risen, in defense of the central city and all cities which were being affected greatly by the war, for example, Maquin, which has been terrorized by bandits .
Isabelle had come back from Zallin, avoided most of the war, and arrived into Kūmarr without to much trouble. The reason she came back was to get her crown, which also seemed to be part of the prophecy as well as the oldest crowns of each of the five kingdoms.
Isabelle had left her crown in the old hollow of her birch tree, she'd known she would have quickly gotten caught if she carried that around with her, but now, she had way more experience, nearly three years of survival on her own.
The good news was she knew exactly where that birch was, but the bad news was, she had a horrible feeling that someone was following her, probably one of her enemies from Zallin, or some bounty hunter.
Which is why she stopped at the siren song.
