Isabelle's POV
I made my way to the other side of the thick wall for a few seconds all I could see were shadows and dark, then a sudden burst of light nearly blinded me, as I pulled myself out of a crawling position.
I stood and scowled, my dress had a rip, with hope it wasn't all the way through, that way no one would notice.
I looked up to see the familiar forest I'd visited for years, the forest was wearing a more vibrant wardrobe, just like the tamer trees of the garden on the other side of the wall.
The advantage of this forest was that it was the only place where there wasn't a village across the wall, true I'd had to hide a few times from people passing by, but it was pretty rare, so I didn't need to worry to much, but I nearly got caught once, courtesy of my curiosity to see a commoner from up close, but luckily I wasn't seen. The reason I came here was mainly because I officially, barely went on the other side of the wall.
The only times she went outside would be like now which was her little secret, and when I had to attend something, for example, a ball, and even then I had to go into a palanquin with dozens of attendants, guards, lords, and ladies, and of course, the times when Cristopher and I sneaked out.
Aside from being separated from the outside world by these people, the palanquin had thick curtains, which made it difficult to see from both ways. Though most people had seen me from afar, they didn't really get close enough to interact. I skipped to the trees and after a few minutes of walk I made it to a fairly large birch tree nearly invisible, between two snow white trunks, was a hollow. And out I pulled my dao sword. Firestorm. I loved it, and always wished I could bring it to the palace, but I knew I'd never be able to get away with it.
She could just imagine what Amira would say: 'why are you holding such a grotesque and unlady-like thing! What ever would you want it for? You have everything you could possibly want here! I mean honestly Emmett, sometimes I wonder how you could possibly think about things like that!'
I could just imagine the horror written all over Amira's face, when she beheld my outrageously 'grotesque, thing' as Amira would probably describe it.
I began practicing again the only thing that kept me free from court life, putting all my spirit, and extra bottled emotions into every step I'd ever learned.
Nothing broke my concentration as I fluidly did the steps, like a dance, until the bell rung of the palace clock rung, three-forty-five.
Three-forty-five?! I was going to be late! I quickly stored Firestorm away and ran back quickly to the wall.
